I enjoyed how everything was in a small viewport like an old Flash game! I really like the simple art style and the SFX/music really carried the mood well.

However it took me a while to figure out that clicking on the left half of the screen would fire a shot from the turret on the left, same goes for the right half of the screen and the right turret. So it was difficult to time my shots correctly. I've never played Missile Command before, so my feedback might be indicative of that...

Reaaaaally fun and compelling take on a classic. Great job. Specifically props for audio, you're in the sweet spot of great music and sfx that are all adding to the overall experience

I had more fun bombarding my city on repeat

I was just talking to my friend today about how we'd love to play missile command again, and boy howdy, was I better at this game 40 years ago. Still, wow, well polished, smooth, clean graphic. Very well executed. Congrats.
Some other poster mentioned all the "screaming" but for me the game was completely quiet (and I didn't notice a toggle anywhere for sound, but maybe I missed it).

Great atmosphere, it felt surprisingly harrowing with all the screaming! Really polished, nice work!

If it came down to this, I really hope they would choose someone much more skilled than me to shoot down those missiles.

So glad to see this, I always loved missile command! Nicely done, too! I love the civilians running around (although it doesn't seem like the smartest decision they've ever made but w/e) and the shuttles launching. Gameplay and atmosphere were excellent!

Developer

Nobody said they were the smartest of little folks!

Hi. I had a hard time figuring out how to play. I liked the self-destruct feature, a really fun feature. The sphere around the city breaks quite nicely. Despite the simple graphics, the attention to detail is lovely. Good luck with future games, it's a great start.

Thanks! I have started a few in the past but decided to actually finish this one and polish it up a bit and then get it out the door. Very satisfying to have done so :D

Good entry.  I want upgrades!

Developer

If I'd had more free time I would have definitely added a few, possibly in a wave attack style. Thanks for the feedback!

Took me a while to judge the lead time well ... and got obliterated in the first run. The second was much better =)

Nicely executed game. I like how it starts slow and easy and then gets progressively harder over time.

Enjoyed it very much!

Thanks! I was worried the learning curve was too steep... but if it wasn't then it got very boring for my play testers once they figured it out a bit :)

The atmosphere of the game was perfect! It took me a bit to get a hang of the missile controls, but it made sense when I figured it out. This was my best run:

Developer(+1)

Atmosphere was definitely one of the areas I was hoping to be strong in :) You're game was a blast btw, I expect it to do exceptionally well if not outright win!

Very fun game! As everyone else is saying, I do wish there was fullscreen, but at the same time I love how small everything looks, it looks very intentional and very pretty. The SFX is also very satisfying for how simple it is (as someone who just found out a few days ago how terrible it is to make SFX, it's worth the praise for sure). I just can't stop playing this game.

Wow the mechanics are really cool! The idea of intercepting missiles is already interesting and how you pulled it off was great! The aesthetics look real good and retro as well, very good game!

Very cool interpretation of Missile Command! Just wish I could put this in fullscreen

Developer

Thanks! The no full screen was a specific choice, with how much you have to lead your shots the small screen made it a lot more ergonomic for my play testers. Thanks for the feedback though!

This game looks great and is fun to play. A bit hard though, I never had a positive score because I was so bad at judging how to aim.

Developer

The difficulty was a hard balancing curve, once you lead the shots enough it gets easy from what my friends said. hindsight I'll make the next one easier! thanks for giving it a play.

Fun! Nice how everything was small! Maybe a tiny bit tooo hard

Developer

Seems difficulty was definitely on the harder side. Hindsight would have me change the scaling a lot!

Submitted(+1)

I like how small everything is. And I love trying to time my bullets right to protect the people. I was very surprised when I accidentally blew myself up by shooting the city. Amazing work!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I didn't want to add shooting delay, but wanted to disincentivize the repeated shooting. There are more elegant solutions if I'd had the time :)

Classic! Loved the little specs that run around on the ground!

Developer

They're my favorite part of the game :)
