Really like the art and audio, I think their relative simplicity adds top the charm. Gameplay is very fun and quite difficult (which I like). Nice work!

Asteroids with some nice additions, sadly it quickly got past my skill level, but I did like a lot of the little touches - the entity in the middle was nicely rendered and spooky, and I liked the star animations in the background - good way to make the space filled.

I love how much you achieved with such a limited color palette. Excellent work!

I got a bit lost in the UI between levels, though—I wasn't always sure what I was supposed to do next. A little more guidance there would really help.

I also loved the animations and transitions—they added a lot of polish to the experience.

Other than that, excellent job!

Really polished and I love the atmosphere!

Awesome take on a classic! REALLY loved the visual style. I will say that I thought I had to avoid the growing black space in the middle of the screen, what a relief that it seemed like it ended up just being decoration.

  • Cool screen transition! And I like how the text moves.
  • Sound effects + music are great, very crunchy sounding (in a good way)
  • Arrow keys + ZX definitely seems to be the move
  • Man, I keep getting greedy with not dispelling the entity
  • Good variety in the nature of the waves
  • The late waves with the suicide bombers are intense
  • Very cool that the waves change a lot the further you get, the late asteroid levels having the asteroids spawn into way more fragments is cool
  • I really like the shuriken enemies

I've been entitied.

Really really cool. I spent quite a bit of time in the early/mid game (I'd missed the point about dismissing the entity 10 times in the description), but things progressed very quickly in the last 25%. The entity itself looked great, I'd be curious to hear about how you implemented it. And best sound design of any games I've played in this jam.

The style is top notch! Art and sound are perfect. I love the gameboy-style color palette and the scene transitions are a nice touch. The upgrade shop is a great addition. I found the movement and combat to be a little slow for my tastes, but I still really enjoyed it! Well done!

I really like this. I feel like this could work as an incremental game with those upgrade trees.

This is a great game! Has a very classic feel, while adding some new ideas on top.

The game looks pretty, sounds pretty and has a very interesting idea! I love the concept of fighting in a timer and having to choose between getting stronger or giving yourself more time. I could definitely see this game getting expanded beyond the game jam version, at some point, and I could definitely see myself coming back to it!

I absolutely love this. The visuals are top notch basically what I would expect from a finished sellable product of this kind of thing. The gameplay is also really really solid. It is very satisfying. I think I got sort of close to beating it but I kind of lost count of the resets. If I had one thing to change it may just be the length. It is otherwise really fun and definitely one of my favorite entries on here that I've played so far! Especially for a solo dev I think this is really impressive.

It definitely fit the retro theme! I loved the GBA green palette. The gameplay was a bit repetitive, and once I got knocked in one direction it was hard to stop. I also got stuck for a while outside of the screen view because the looping wasn't perfectly matched to the camera space. Fun though! I liked the upgrade shop.

Cool game! The gameplay did feel a bit repetitive, as there wasn't much variety to the waves of enemies, but the graphics are great. I'm curious how you made the entity, is it a shader or something procedurally generated?

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I did want to make a ton of new enemies but I figured I didn't have enough time to really polish them if I did!

The background entity is just 3 sprites layered on top of each other constantly rotating (in different directions and speeds) then I put on a "fire" shader on it so it moves like flames and tweaked the parameters.

The entity that you fight is made out of only particles.

The real magic that ties it all together is putting the stretch to viewport and the scale to integer so it looks like an actual made sprite!

Nice game! I had a hard time upgrading my ship because I was always in need of repairs, but the gameplay loop was fun and satisfying. I also love the art style.

Developer

Thank you!

You can use the cross konami code to get one free full heal every game!

This is a well made jam entry. It has really good style and presentation. Classic gameplay with a rogue lite twist.

Submitted(+1)

Nicely done! It was a good gameplay loop, and the only game i've come across so far with an upgrade system. I only wish the waves had a bit more character. After the fifth dispel, I felt like I was still playing the first dispel, just with slightly better attack speed and movement. That aside, everything else was very polished! I particularly enjoyed the rocket engine sound

Developer(+1)

Thank you a lot! I did wish I had a bit more visual feedback everytime the difficulty rises. If I remember right medium waves show up after the 4th dispel and hard after the 7th. I loveee the rocket engine sound as well! It was a complete accident in fact! Instead of lowering and raising the volume I did it with the pitch scale instead and it sounded so peak I decided to keep it.

Very nice take on Asteroids! The gameplay loop is fun, fast and satisfying and the presentation is very polished.

Submitted(+1)

This is really great! You can tell that a lot of thought went into the color pallet, menu screens and art. In terms of graphics this game is phenomenal. I also love the game play loop. Choosing between removing the void or risking it and upgrading a little longer is fun! Nitpick: There was one time where an enemy went behind my health bar and I thought I killed all the enemies and the game was stuck.

Developer

Thank you so much!

I do wish I made some kind of spawn margin for the health bar or made it a tad bit transparent when an enemy is behind it. Thanks for that!

Submitted(+1)

This was so fun and polished! really nice

Submitted(+1)

Very cool game! It was pretty easy, but I still really enjoyed it.

Developer

Thank you! I was actually quite worried that the game was too hard when I made it but after play-testing I figured out that it's the opposite!
Thanks for playing my game!
