The combat felt really smooth! I liked the little 3 hit combo, and the uppercut having a downwards attack option after. Felt very good.

I sure love a good beat-em-up, especially when the main character is a hummer with a temper. The animation of the angry guy almost had me in tears. Nice soundtrack too. Great entry, chapeau!
My team also made a beat em up with fish and a shrimp! What are the chances? haha.
I love the idea of the human being the one who sends the waves and the uppercut feels perfect. I'm amazed you did a game with this level of details in only 9 days. Great job :D
This was great! The hit boxes were a little weird sometimes but that’s jam life. My only real complaint is no gamepad support/rebindable controls. My keyboard is split, left/right on the left side and up/down on the right side so it was really challenging. Still, I almost defeated the human and had an awesome time!
really cool game, i had fun, i think its a bug but the crab boss did not attack anymore after i finished his (from our view) left claw
fantastic game!! i love the concept and the expressiveness of all of the art. the combat feels really juicy too even if it is quite simple. very sick
Won't spoil it, but the final boss is tough =)
Art and sound are amazing. I really like the cut scenes.
The different attack moves of the enemies makes it more interesting.
Really cool game jam entry you have there. Had a lot of fun!
This one has been one of the most fun I have had playing. The human being angry in the background and dropping in more fish was an incredible touch, bravo. Is there an intentional combo here? I kept mashing punch and upper cut and it seemed like I was doing a slam too. It was great. I like the level progression and bosses. I died on the crab so not sure how much further the game went from there.
Great entry. Nice job!
This was really fun! I really like that the enemies got stunned by the hits so you could keep hitting them with combos, that made it satisfying to play. The human being the source of the waves of enemies was really clever, and the final boss fight was great! Oh, and it looks awesome too!
This was so much fun to play! Despite being pretty terrible at beat-em-ups I managed to beat it. I love the narrative of the mantis beating up all the aquarium creatures and the human just adding more to see what will happen! All the aspects of this game really came together for a cohesive experience. My only critiques are that the music was a tad harsh on my ears and that the basic enemies didn't put up much of a fight, I could pretty easily get right in the middle of them and just punch/uppercut to win. But the boss designs are really cool.
Great job, one of my favorites so far!
- Very high production value and attention to detail.
- Great job on making player movement feel fluid and responsive. The combos!
- Multiple songs and bosses
- The human in the background is a really fun narrative component
- In-game tutorial was really well done
- All the little bits of movement to make the game feel alive are great. E.g. the kelp moving, the first boss's bubbles
- Boss #2 ate up two of my lives on my first playthrough and I lost at the final boss, but managed to beat it on playthrough two
- For the most part not too difficult. Most of the ads I was able to spam punch, and the bosses telegraphed their attacks with enough delay such that dodging usually wasn't too tough. Final boss was definitely tougher by virtue of having smaller windows in which you could deal damage.
Really impressive, great job!
So peak. Great art and music, the basic gameplay is really fun with combos being very satisfying to pull off, and the bosses were a delight once I figured out how to fight each one. It was really funny how shocked and then angry the human looked each time you defeated a wave.
Would have loved controller support
One of my favorite games from the jam. The concept is really fun. The animations are very good. Maybe the only problem is that it's too easy. I loved it.
I love this! satisfying to combo! The bosses were quite a bit harder than the mobs. The art is cute and soulful. I also liked that it felt like a commentary on youtube animal content
