I really love the art in this game! And the whole concept, this game is very fun (:
I really like this! The art style is so nice, the music and sound effects are great, and the game feels really cohesive and well thought out! My only criticism is that I wish the tutorial explained a little bit more about what each character did, but I figured it out well enough on my own.
I love the vibe of this game, dungeon crawler is one of the best genres when it comes to retro. You really nailed it and I loved the visuals!
Really impressive what you managed to put together here! The overall sound design and art is very cohesive. The mean feedback I have is that I think the indicator for turn and indicator for character being selected could have been separate to allow for you to manage items and check character stats more fluidly.
Great work though!
Not mean at all, thank you for the feedback! Totally fair too, I think making it easier to switch between characters would also make it easier to strategize because you could quickly bounce around to compare each one's strengths and weaknesses against the others.
Thanks again for the feedback, and thanks for playing!
haha, "main" makes way more sense!
Wow, thank you that's high praise from someone living the lifestyle. A lot of the art is just kinda playful or even goofy, but I really did enjoy learning more about punk ideologies and tried to come up with a few enemies that are the antithesis of that. (i.e. sellouts, corporate ppl, elitists). Hopefully it wasn't corny or cheesy!
The layout and graphics reminds me of old point and click games. Honestly I just spammed attack most of the time but I seemed to get softlocked at stage 3 where no enemies appeared. I like the aesthetics and audio were very faithful to the theme.
Sorry, it's not super clear but I think the softlock you're describing is actually the spot where you need to click the "enter door" looking button instead of the Go button.
After 3 rounds you get to enter the door at the end of the alley and rest up (get healed). Then you do it all over again, with tougher enemies!
This makes me nostalgic. I like that you can equip items. NIce retro feel!
I absolutely love the setting and the graphics. It reminded me some old school grid based rpg. A very fun game! Well done!
Wow a lot going on here.
The graphics and sound were great retro feel and really fit the theme well.
I did two play throughs - only made it to two battles on first try (had no idea what I was doing)
second try I made it through 7 last one was super hard, I had "bandage" on the second run and that helped a lot
some more information about what specials do would be nice as would a easy way to swap equipment, but overall very ambitious game that plays it off well, thanks for submitting
I loved the art and the style, the game just oozes with it, top notch. I would have loved to have tooltips or some other way to figure out what the various buttons did in game.
I love that you played into the retro theme twice -- it's a retro game genre with the old school Wizardry style dungeon crawler, and also retro with the 80s punk aesthetic!
It would have been nice to be able to inspect what actions did (maybe a tooltip on hover?) and also item stats in the same way. Other than that, this is great.
That was fun! Once I got into the inventory system and read what the special moves do I was into it.
If your inventory is full and you get new items, they are gone! I found a tommy gun and was excited to use it, but my backpack was full so I guess the team just threw it on the ground! Why would you do that, Bobby/Iggy/Wren/Morgan?!
Great style and fun game. Good jam.
