I like the idea of speeding up the destruction of the sun, the mining was chill, not much going on however. A lot of upgrades that ultimately dont do much in the scheme of it all, didnt select 60% of them. Id like to see where this goes, its a good take on the theme!

Developer

Thank you for the kind words

Addictive.  0:55 was my record but itf I had more time I would play more but want to rate mroe game :D Good idea and really fun. Visuals are great too. Only thing is that one achievement didnt work "destroy under 300s" i got the 120s but not the 300s. Good job

Developer(+1)

Wow that is the best record I've seen so far, haha that is amazing.

As for the achievement, I found the issue: It only triggers if you win with a time between 241s and 300s, because I stupidly coded them as if-else statements. HAHA WELP. It's an easy fix so I will address it once the jam period ends and the game can be updated! :)

Cool game! When I discovered planets it was a cool moment! Good job

Developer(+1)

Haha yass, the planets were really fun to make! Hope you managed to blow them all up :)

All but Earth! I wanted to destroy it! Why won't the Council allow me to destroy earth but have no issue with me destroying the sun and therefore the solar system! They work in mysterious ways..

Developer(+1)

That's awesome!

Yes the council works in mysterious ways!

Woah what a surprise to see you Rock!!!

Glad you like it :D

Unfortunately this ran slow on my computer so I didn't have the best experience. Great job making a game for the jam!

Hi again YYZ!

When I saw a doomer-ism game by YYZ, I knew I had to play. I mean, I was going to play anyway. But this one for sure. I played until I unlocked all the achievements, but the under 300s one never unlocked for me, while I did have the under 120s one. I don't know what happened!

I'm going to be a little bit blunt (sorry, I'm Dutch): I didn't like this game as much as your previous jam games. I think the way you move around and collect things (regular wasd gliding, and clicking, standing still doing very little (especially if you hover over asteroids)) is a little bit dull, and not very fun to me.

I'm also missing something in the upgrade department. It felt like none of the upgrades significantly affected how I played or how I should play the game, other than helping me speed up the process. I understand that to be an element of incremental/Number Go Up games to an extent, but I think a lot of the fun in those games is in attempting to break the system's economy, or figuring out fun strategies that play very differently.

Also: personally in these types of games I'm a fan of adding systems that automate some parts of the gameplay loop for you. I think I've said this in a previous comment on one of your jam games. It's a short jam though, so that's obviously a big ask.

I feel a little bit bad about giving this kind of feedback, especially without offering real suggestions on how to improve, but then I also don't really want to do your creative process for you. You're perfectly good at that on your own. In my opinion your gameplay loop is just missing something. I can think of some suggestions if you want though!

Other than that,  the music was a good vibe, the achievements gave me something to do, and I thought the news ticker was really funny. It honestly made me hate the world a little more.

Developer(+1)

Heyyyyyy!

Thanks so much for playing it! I didn't have as much time this jam to develop and playtest as I have been overseas sadly! However your feedback is still valuable. In hindsight I would've made the upgrades a lot more powerful and more automation would have worked well for the rebirth/new game plus mechanic which would have worked well with a Rebirth currency of some sort.

Haha, glad you liked the news reports - seems a lot of people liked them and I enjoyed writing them a lot too~

That makes total sense! Hope you're having/have had a good trip!

I'm just back and resting, had an amazing time, thank you for asking and always good to see familiar faces in this jam :)

Nice one, it is wierdly calming as you destroy the sun. Nice music choice. I finished it, good upgrades and the achievements are a nice touch.

Surprising amount of polish you got into everything. I had nearly destroyed the sun when I realized that the storage capacity of me (a black hole) had this nice ring graphic. Excellent job of polishing a simple mechanic. Never played an inceremental game before but I see the appeal now.

Cool concept, the news report were a very nice touch :)

very nice game, i really enjoyed the gameplay loop! loved the detail of the news reports from earth XD

Submitted

I like the news reports, seeing the ones toward the end made me say out loud "Maybe humanity does deserve this"

A very cozy world-ender! When the apocalypse comes, let it be like this

Submitted

Nice game! some upgrades seem weak and some very powerful but part of the fun was figuring out which is which. Maybe the 2% chance to gain multiple essence is a bit low though! Really cool

Submitted

Very cool game. Scratches the incremental game itch. Fits the theme perfectly

Found some bugs, like the sun only being able to drop one sun stone at a time and time manipulation only applying after you buy an upgrade after starting over, but the game is overall pretty good.

Developer

Thanks for reporting the bug! I have fixed the first bug - I've tested and multiple sun fragments can drop now! :)

I couldn't replicate the second bug. Time manipulating when upgraded immediately starts making the countdown faster. I will continue to monitor though, thanks for playing!
