I need feedback on my precision(ish) paltformer demo please and thank you

Hi, yesterday I released the new demo for my game PortalHopper, as the title suggests its kind of a precision platformer not as hard as some but still.

It's about a little squid named Splat trying to find his way home after being pulled into a world called the bridge that's tied together by portals.

The demo includes the full first chapter of the game with over 20 levels. Here's the problem: I have no clue this game is good or not, sure I've been working on it for almost year but that's the problem I have no concept of what's good and what's bad anymore and it doesn't help that I recently uprooted 60% of the game a month before it was supposed to release and now it's not coming out until 2027 simply because I didn't think it worked well.

I've spent the past two days advertising this demo wherever I possibly could and sure 4 people have downloaded it, but no one has left any feedback I don't even know if anyone has played it. Please play my game I need to know if this game is actually decent or not, the more specific the feedback the better.

Thank you๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

Finished the demo. The mechanism of adsorption on the ceiling is unique (seems to be achieved by providing continuous upward speed). The demo made me learn this mechanism gradually through a series of levels, which is very rewarding and interesting. Story is fun.

On the other hand, I couldn't quite get used to jump by pressing up arrow. A customize keyboard settings is recommended.

It seems that the height of jump can't be controlled. Is it designed deliberately?

I didn't realize that mouse can be used to interact with npc until sun block. Maybe the function of mouse can be introduced in HELP or tortle dialog.

The map is a bit blurry and I can't see the words clearly.

Thanks for playing!

Iโ€™m happy to hear you enjoyed the story and found the gameplay rewarding, I have gotten quite a few comments about the arrow keys so I will likely have spacebar also be jump since itโ€™s not in use currently anyways.

Jump height not being controlled is a deliberate choice but Iโ€™m always looking to iron things out to feel best as possible so thereโ€™s a chance that could change at some point.

As for clicking to interact, I plan to eventually make the mouse obsolete entirely and have the enter key replace it for interactions.

The map is an issue with the gameโ€™s 320x180 resolution and I plan to just redraw the map entirely.

Itโ€™s always great to hear feedback and thank you again so much for playing!

also fun fact: the ceiling slide thing has been a bug since the first ever version of the game and I just found it fun to play around with so I started building levels around it haha
