Do what stuff which video are you referring to

good to know, I’ve been noticing window issues off and on for awhile so I might try to change it to a different type of full screen to where you can click away without the game minimizing itself.

I looked that up and it sounds like it might be a problem with your GPU/graphics card I would suggest just trying again and if the issues comes up again I'll look into it further, sometimes the issues are on the device's end and not the game's.

Let me know your full thoughts on the new version when you finish it I'd love to hear your full feedback!

Thanks for playing!

I’m happy to hear you enjoyed the story and found the gameplay rewarding, I have gotten quite a few comments about the arrow keys so I will likely have spacebar also be jump since it’s not in use currently anyways.

Jump height not being controlled is a deliberate choice but I’m always looking to iron things out to feel best as possible so there’s a chance that could change at some point.

As for clicking to interact, I plan to eventually make the mouse obsolete entirely and have the enter key replace it for interactions.

The map is an issue with the game’s 320x180 resolution and I plan to just redraw the map entirely.

It’s always great to hear feedback and thank you again so much for playing!

also fun fact: the ceiling slide thing has been a bug since the first ever version of the game and I just found it fun to play around with so I started building levels around it haha

Glad you liked it!

Hi, yesterday I released the new demo for my game PortalHopper, as the title suggests its kind of a precision platformer not as hard as some but still.

It's about a little squid named Splat trying to find his way home after being pulled into a world called the bridge that's tied together by portals.

The demo includes the full first chapter of the game with over 20 levels. Here's the problem: I have no clue this game is good or not, sure I've been working on it for almost year but that's the problem I have no concept of what's good and what's bad anymore and it doesn't help that I recently uprooted 60% of the game a month before it was supposed to release and now it's not coming out until 2027 simply because I didn't think it worked well.

I've spent the past two days advertising this demo wherever I possibly could and sure 4 people have downloaded it, but no one has left any feedback I don't even know if anyone has played it. Please play my game I need to know if this game is actually decent or not, the more specific the feedback the better.

Thank you😁😁😁😁😁😁😁

- Does the aiming line feel clear and reliable?

Yes but it acted a little weird on the sides and didn't properly project at times when aiming off the sides

- Do the levels feel fair as they go from easy to hard?

Only played to level 12 but they mostly felt the same in terms of difficulty

- Does the game feel good on both desktop and mobile browsers?

Only played on desktop

- Does the game become more satisfying as the ball count increases?

yes

- Is the UI flow understandable?

the main menu is a tiny bit confusing but gets the job done

- Does anything feel confusing, slow, unnecessary, or missing?

the speed button should be there the whole time instead of popping up after a certain amount of time

This is quite an interesting game, the writing is very well done and extremely descriptive. I don't really play these types of games that often so I didn't really know what I was doing but I enjoyed it, the art was nice too. I think for the right group of people this game would be really enjoyable, I just don't think I'm part of that target demographic. Also I don't know if I just did something wrong or what but when I got to the point when it told me it was time to launch a full invasion the only option was "I'm not ready yet". I don' think I beat the game so I saved to come back later if I feel like finishing my playthrough. The game definitely has potential to be really great!

7.5/10

idk if I’m posting in the right place but I just released a new demo for my game it’s like 20 minutes long and I need feedback if you could give it a shot that’d be greatly appreciated! https://christiandunlap96.itch.io/portalhopper

PS: sorry you guys are the last to see this I forgot to post this on itch

lucky for you the rpg elements are mostly if not all being removed

I agree it is quite unbalanced  in places, I forget to release an announcement that I probably will soon but I'm redoing a lot of the full game and when i go through everything I'll go and make sure everything is more balanced. What did you think of the demo?
