I really liked the overall concept and had a great time playing the game. The music was awesome too. Great job! 👏🎵

End life plan
I will follow up with a small update; I plan to add controller support and fix some animation issues.
I would like to continue this project as a comercial project if it picks up. Otherwise, it will always be playable and downloadable on itch.io. I will make the sourcecode public sometime in the future.
If you submit your score, it will make it into a highscore list in the post-jam update.

This game really reminds me of the "Fancy Pants" games. I thought it was pretty cool.
This was the most fun I've had actually playing something in this jam.
The look is fantastic. Title screen with the logo in purple and pink graffiti over a paint splatter, ninja throwing the V sign, and then the game itself drops to pure black and white with only the yellow of the cans and the blue paint you leave behind. Very stylish and very readable at the same time. The combo system is addictive, watching TAG + TAG + TAG + TAG stack up at the bottom with the multiplier climbing (900x1.2) got me to 1500 points quickly, and COMBO FAIL! in red graffiti is clear feedback with personality. The little drawn keyboard on the title screen with GRIND (R) and JUMP (SPACE) marked does the job, and crediting the music (Street Eaters, Witch) discreetly in the corner is a nice touch.
Three things. The black and white contrast is beautiful but the character sometimes vanishes into the black background, especially when you drop to the lower part of the screen. I never quite worked out when the grind actually engages, sometimes I would pass right over a rail and not catch it. And the level is massive like you say, but with no minimap or direction hint you basically run right and hope.
A 20 second tutorial teaching the grind and the wall jump would make this an easy favourite of the jam. Really good work.

wow! what a fun skating game, reminded me of a few nostalgic games i used to enjoy on newgrounds many years ago.
the music, art and gameplay was fantastic, and i felt that it was very well tied to the theme. good job :)
Nice game!
When I read "2D platformer" and "skating," I felt that I needed to play this game!
I love skating, (big thps fan here) and 2D-platform games.
Great job!

Honk!

I really like the choice of songs! The tagging is probably the coolest feature this game has got going for it, though I do dig the fact that grounded tricks just propel you forward at massive speeds. It's probably a skill issue, but it feels like I'm fighting the game more than I want to. The controls and the platforming don't feel as nice as they could, but with some extra polish and more work this game could provide some action-filled, juicy, tagging madness! Keep at it!
Thanks for your feedback! I think the problem is more in the level design; I didn't have much time to fine-tune, so there's no space to line up your jumps and maneuver, or gradually introduce the player to mechanics and momentum.
Not necessarily a skill issue, but if you're not used to momentum based platformers, it might feel a bit unusual.
I really like how tagging permanently marks the level and the animations look good
¡Hola! Un concepto muy original y los controles funcionan genial. Solo un pequeño detalle: no he podido encontrar la forma de salir del juego. Por lo demás, ¡gran trabajo y mucho ánimo!"
