How does your game fit the theme?
The tether was going to "count down" (i.e. you have a limited amount of cord) and if it got severed, you would have a time limit to get back to an anchor station. These mechanics did not eventuate.

(Optional) Please credit all assets you've used
All "art" is in-game primitives (really just the main drone character)

(Optional) What would you like to be called if GMTK features your game?
OllieOA, but please don't

I like it. This is a very nice technical demo of something new you tried, and I think it might be a useful mechanic to build on further for future games, like perhaps some diving game, mine-explorer thing? Good job!

This was cool! The animation of the robot gave it a lot of natural life, and I liked the flying mechanic. Good job for posting anyway :)

What you were able to finish was pretty good.

I’ve genuinely had more fun playing this than a lot of the other submissions so far. Damn, this is so cool. Hope that you manage to find some space to keep working on it <3

This is the greatest gamejam tragedy, because even as a tech demo, this is fun. You were cooking.

Hey!

This'll likely be a strange comment to find on your game, but it feels fitting to reply to this. I hope this doesn't come across as self-promotion, but I actually made a game on Steam w/ a tether system a few years ago: Tether on Steam

...and it was infinitely worse in terms of gameplay than the short segment you made here lol. The retraction mechanic? The way the drone's arms swing around in zero gravity? This has potential and, if you get your appetite back for a project like this, you should go for it! Even w/ the limited gameplay I find it quite engaging (although I'm certainly bias).

As someone who also published an unfinished game for this jam, I just wanted to congratulate you for submitting something at all, let alone a working prototype like this that's fun to fly around in. I found this quite charming :]
