Thanks so much for playing!

Level design was one of the things I definitely wanted to get more time for. I had put the levels together in 5 minuted and intended to circle back, but never got there. The only interesting design choice was the water cooler one. The others are just trying to make it more difficult to go horizontal or vertical.

Definitely room for some interesting decisions if not done at 2am on the last morning 😂

Glad that you liked it despite the fact!

Thanks so much for playing!

I definitely wanted to make sure that there was a moment of respite before everything turned to chaos.

Glad you liked it!

Thanks so much for the kind words! Genuinely!

It was fun/depressing trying to walk that line of keeping things playful while taking a jab like you say. Glad to hear that it landed.

I think I’ve decided that handing in your tie is spiritually the good ending and getting to CEO is the bad too.

Really appreciate you playing and enjoying the game!

Thanks!

Thanks so much for playing. Was great to tune into the stream!

Ahh, that’s awesome, great job! I feel like based off of your screenshot you’re already 10x better than I am at it.

It turns out I am just not good at games lol.

I’m sad because that was literally the next thing on my todo list.

I usually have a template for jam games but have recently changed things up, so my new workflow didn’t have the remapping available yet. Will definitely get it in before the next one.

Thanks so much for playing! Really appreciate the feedback.

Ha, a good space to be in for sure. Also feel like that comment accurately describes me making any jam game

Thanks! Took a bit to land on, but happy we got where we did.

Thank you so much :D I feel like writing never comes naturally to me, so it’s been great to get comments that like it.

Appreciate you playing!

The game I didn’t realize I needed! This is so good. Really appreciate your take on the theme then the addition of wildcard too. A+

Genuinely had to use my browser inspector to figure out where the game stopped and the page started. Started there and only got better. This is seriously such a polished entry!

I adore the small details of the controls lighting up in the bottom as you press them. Such a subtle addition, but really drives home your attention to detail.

The music, the art, the overall aesthetic and game design. So well done.

I had a bit of trouble where on Mac + Firefox if I had the magnets with the same polarity facing each other, the game would freeze. Not sure exactly what was going on, but did what I could to not let that get in the way of my enjoyment!

You got me. I’m a sucker for sokaban games! You’ve done so well threading through the theme in this so well too. Everything feels really polished. The levels progress and have a genuine difficulty curve to them. All round such a great submission! Look forward to seeing more from you!

How did you manage to fit so much into a single jam. Even with a team your size, this is such a great submission! Congrats on your first entry to GWJ, it’s a stellar one at that :D

Only small nit was, it was a little odd setting myself up for directions/a/b to then need to use the mouse for dialouge and selecting things. Not a biggy though. Lots of fun

How..? It’s a game jam and you’ve made a game that is so gosh darn polished! And not even that, but you made your itch page so polished too! Don’t you dare think I didn’t notice that undead reaching for the play button.

What a phenomenal entry. Everything has come together so darn well and definitely leaves me with a feeling of wanting more. Honestly any productivity I claim to have would go out the window if this became a mobile game. Not saying do it, but definitely do it.

Never in my wildest dreams would I think I’d enjoy flinging poop at my enemies… Okay that might be a lie, but this game captures that hypothetical joy so well! The game feels really balanced and the upgrades felt actually meaningful (most games fall flat in that regard). Such a good play. Really liked it! Great submission.

(Art, music, everything felt great!)

Great game! The art is so good and the controls feel really smooth. I had a bit of trouble aiming, but that’s a me thing with a track pad and not being able to see where a charged shot would go. Also I’m terrible at parkour, but that didn’t stop me from having fun! Nice submission

Such a gorgeous game! Really hope that you continue to work on it after the jam, definitely left wanting more; the right way to leave a jam. Lots of fun.

So good! Was loads of fun to go charging through all those enemies. I genuinely could do this for hours. The music is perfect for the tone of the game and really eggs you on to keep going. Great submission!

Seriously such a cool game. Everything about this fits together so well. It feels so satisfying flying around controlling the ship. Really awesome game and super well polished, great job!

I have never felt much of an eel advocate before. This is such an awesome game. I’m glad that there was an end because I was starting to think that I was going to be playing this all night. It’s so much fun and the entire vibe fits together so well. What an awesome game, great submission!

Such a neat game! Genuinely a lot of fun to play through and the puzzles feel really rewarding to solve. Loved the first time I accidentally ran out of batter discovering the rewind, that’s a nice touch. And the music is so good, makes it really awesome to vibe out to.

The only criticism I have, and it’s very light; is that I would like to see the whole level on a screen. Felt a bit arbitrary to have to discover the level sometimes.

Great submission and I am excited about the teaser with “(Only 35 levels at the moment)” insinuating that there will be more!

Cool game! I’m always terrible when it comes to needing to have good reflexes, but this was fun to play. Congrats on the first GWJ submission

Taking on a deck builder for a jam!? Kudos to you! This turned out really well. Truly impressed with what you’ve managed to achieve. The game is such a vibe, really enjoyed playing. Great work.

And like… It’s not just a jam level entry, you have all the niceties I’ve come to expect from deck builders. Amazing!

From the get go you want to try take as many moves as you can without going over budget.

It’s a little bit tricky that getting exact budget is the goal rather than getting under budget.

If you’re under budget you get punished for the next rounds by having as much as you’d used when you went under.

So if you took 4 moves and spent 4 of your budget, that means next time you’ll only get a budget of 4. But with increase cost of move that means you can’t actually get in under budget anymore.

I’m glad you liked it despite that.

There is unfortunately a snowball effect when things start to go bad that make it harder to pull out of.

Because your budget gets cut if you go under, I think the ideal is aiming for the budget from the start so you give yourself some wiggle room as you progress.

It’s intentional that there is a pause at the start of each quarter to give yourself the chance to figure out what kind of path you want to take. With the changing cost knowing how you can push up towards budget cap is a good way to position yourself.

If you go too low under budget to begin with, as the cost goes up per move you’re going to almost always go over budget.

Hope that helps! Let me know

You don’t know how high of a compliment that is! I usually say that I write better in code than English (despite it being my only language), so having that land is really awesome.

Yeah, even with the tutorial I feel like it’s a bit much to load all at once. A post jam version would give each system a bit of breathing room before introducing the next.

Thanks for playing!

Thanks! I’m definitely taking some inspiration from you for the next jam!

I’m genuinely so glad to hear that! I had tried to set things up so that was the hope, but didn’t expect people to do it. So thank you so much!

Thanks for saying!

I really suck at this game, so we are in this together and definitely not dumb. I really want to make a post jam version where you schedule your moves so it is less about reflexes.

There is probably some metaphor about life being difficult, but I won’t pretend to that I was deep enough to intend that 😂

Honestly the more I think about it, I think this is the good end. You did the best you could, despite the unrealistic expectations that were set upon you. You would have had to give up who you were to become something you’re not.

You truly won!

Seriously thank you for engaging with it on such a deep level though. My sad expectation was that most people would be fired and get frustrated, so thanks for finding it compelling enough to give it another shot.

I love this end to end. What a great interpretation of the theme and such an excellent execution!

The art is so gorgeous. The vibe with the radio is spot on. The little quips from the characters. This very much gives me “Thank Goodness You’re Here!” vibes. Playing this feels like it’s a sub level out of that game. I was about to say condensed down to jam size, but no, you’ve managed to do way more than a jam scope here. Great job!

Took a little bit to get the hang of, not sure why I have the confidence to go into a game without at least browsing the tutorial. Congrats on your first GWJ entry!

Yesss! I love this so much. I had wondered about doing a charging the social battery thing too, so very glad to see that someone else did it and did it sooo well.

I will say though, it is something when a game helps reaffirm how socially awkward you are :joy:

Despite having confirmation of the truth, this is such a well put together game, the art, the music, the effects to drive home that you’re drunk at a party looking to pat a dog. :chef-kiss: well done!

This is seriously soooo polished! The art and sound are amazing, the controls feel smooth and effortless. And so much content packed into a single jam! The visual effects of the swings and hits, the small pause on hit; everything felt so good. Seriously end to end this is amazing work :D

The Where’s Wally rat :chef-kiss:. Such an awesome game all round. What more can you say than praise for a game that lets you pet cats 100% of the time? Great submission, great art, great sound and music, great all round. Thanks for submitting so I could get to play it!

Really loved the art of this! I would love to see a post jam version with even more. A fun game with such a great bop too. Is genuinely really fun to play through. Keep it up :)

Neat use of the theme. Having to manage collecting more resources with being able to get out is really clever.

The sound effects for the flame thrower were a bit rough as a earbud user, but otherwise like the asethetic, music, and enjoyed collecting me some gems.

Great entry!

What a fun take on the theme! The camera movement was a little overwhelming to start with, but once I realized I hold down to charge up then it felt a lot better.

This is so well put together and really polished. What a great entry and a genuinely fun game. Could see myself playing this a lot. Post jam version when?

Nooo! I lost track of my outgoing CU and lost just as I placed a new generator. It’s probably for the best though, I could see myself playing this for ages!

Great submission :D

Nooo! I’m so sad. I only have a laptop trackpad, so couldn’t really interact with the game. The visuals and music were so good though. I really love the work you put into those. Next time I have a proper mouse I’m definitely coming back to play this. Great submission!
