Love the timing/puzzle elements of this, feels like a polished version of a game that would have come installed with windows 98. Super cool!

Developer

Thanks so much, that's super kind praise :))

Glad we managed to match that aesthetic!

very fun and rewarding pathfinding puzzles! it takes a good amount of time to figure out how to solve them. the crystal one felt like itd be really close timing wise, but then on my proper attempt i ended up with like 10 seconds to spare

i somehow did the third one “first try” (after exploring the map once first), i think because i just stumbled into the optimal path immediately lol.

some of the controls did feel a little fiddly (it took me a while to figure out how to use the bombs, since they dont work if youre right next to the wall, which makes sense given the implementation, but is unusual)

Developer

Super fair; good criticism regarding the bombs. Thanks so much for playing!!

Really fun game, it really captures the Minit vibe I love and I really like how retro the audio and music make it feel

Really fun. It felt like all the mechanics were intuitive and I very quickly got a grasp of the layouts.

Really enjoyed this one! The core idea was creative, and it's clear a lot of effort went into bringing it together. The gameplay loop was fun, the visuals fit the theme well, and even with a few rough edges, it was an enjoyable experience. I genuinely enjoyed that the game presented a challenge that required memorization between runs. It made every successful attempt feel that much more rewarding, while also being delightfully rage-inducing in the best way.

Thanks so much!

I like the art style, it presents pretty nicely!

It feels very reminiscent of the game Minit - forcibly restart after X amount of time, but you are able to go farther because you've figured out what you're doing. The fact that you aren't told what you're doing and you have to figure it out each level is a interesting aspect to this. It sounds like on paper that would be bad game design, but actually it all gets wrapped into the learning that happens in your initial exploratory runs, so it feels like it's supposed to be underexplained, in addition to the obvious "figure out all the rooms in the level and where things are and what the best path between them all is."

The difficulty on these is a little high, I will say. The first level I had to do a couple of times even having figured out a good route in order to complete it; even then, I barely finished, with only 1 second left.

Developer(+1)

Yeah Minit was definitely a design inspiration. Glad that design experiment worked out, for the most part!

If we had more time, we would have definitely tried to balance the levels better for difficulty. As is we actually added 10 seconds to the first level right at the end and even that wasn’t enough 😅

Thanks so much for playing and for the constructive criticism!

Fun stuff! Though I found myself lost more than anything with the changing map, but i think that's a skill issue xD

Developer

Ahaha yeah that’s part of the challenge. Takes a couple tries!! Took me a couple too :)

Really cool game, the artwork and music go really well together!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much!! We’re all super proud of how the art and music paired together :)

Developer(+2)

glad you enjoyed the music and artwork! The artists were complete wizards with this one, I was lucky to compose for them!

Music is absolutely lit. Sound design great, visuals pretty good. Gameplay has some potential with clearer goals and ways to "speed up". I see from the comments you need to use the sand piles?

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much!!! Major kudos to our musician Chris Doerksen. Yes, the sand piles fill up over time and you can’t pass through them once they’re fully filled! They’re handy shortcuts if you’re speedy enough on foot. Would be fun to add some additional speed-up abilities! Some similar ideas were considered but unfortunately cut for time.

Developer(+1)

Appreciate you shouting out the music!! Means a lot :)

Submitted(+2)

This is a really nice game! I spent a long time tryna finish the first level. I haven't completed the other ones, but I will definitely check this out again later! It took me a while to figure out that there were sand piles growing and that that was why i couldn't go some places sometimes. Also, while i am writing this, the game timer has suddenly frozen and i am now free to do everything with no timer. Must have been because i'm not on the tab. Otherwise, really great game!

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much for playing!! That’s a really good catch; I’m frustrated we didn’t notice that during the jam. Will have to go back and fix that afterward.
