Great idea. I loved playing it and I'm really a fan of automation in JRPG style games. This immediately made me think of a simplified gambit system from FF12.

The game would benefit from not having the UI reset between sims, as it would allow the player to tweak from previous state in the desired direction. Also as someone else said, a bit more information on what's actually going on during the sim would help make the correct decisions in each subsequent sim.

Developer

Thank you for playing! And thank you for catching the ui reset bug. We made sure to make the actions stay put between retries, but it seems something happened with the sliders, sorry about that.
and yes, we are currently working on some more on-battle feedback! We put up a sneak peek in a devlog post, and we are going to work on it a bit more before que update it next

Great idea, some turn-by-turn feedback would have been great, I just kept tweaking the numbers until I got it right, but I see the potential!

Developer

Thank you for playing! Yes, we are working on more battle turns feedback, we will update the game as soon as we can

Unique take on the theme. My boss fight was "Perfectly balanced as everything should be",  at-least that's what Neoxyde said xD.
One suggestion I would add (if you are planning to working it later), is to highlight the step which currently boss is at, either display on UI or just highlight that step.

Overall fun game.

Developer

Thanks! we’re already planning on improving the game a little bit after the jam. Its a first for two of us so we’d like to give it some needed love to really be proud about it.

That's a rather unique idea! Maybe a bit of polish with more complexity and visual feedback and it would be a fun game to relax to! If I were to suggest something, is making attack that can miss. I'm not sure how the review logic works, but maybe it would be a cool thing to add in the end of the fight.

Also I'm not sure what caused it, but for some reason I couldn't change attacks from 1 to 4. They were permanently "wait".

Good job!

Developer

Hey thanks for trying our game! Sorry about the turn thing. I rushed that logic in about 30 minutes so its quite rough around the edges. We’ve taken note and will fix it on the post-jam version, thanks for your feedback!

It took a while for me to understand. But that old school computer theme is fire !! Good game

Developer

Thank you for playing! Yes we will definitely add more battle feedback for next update

Having some player information would be nice, or maybe some preset health/damage amounts instead of sliders would've been more immediately intuitive than the sliders? I mostly ended up doing even amounts of damage until I made it to the end, and it ended up feeling more like throwing darts at a dartboard than anything. Regardless of execution, it's a very thoughtful dartboard! I think there's a lot of potential here for a fuller idea, something like a game management sim. Thank you for submitting!

Yes, we wanted to add more visual confirmation about what was happening during the battle, and it's definitely something we will add when we are able to update it next! Thank you for your feedback!

Amazingly creative implementation of the countdown theme! As well as art and overall vibe.
Def a little too much just guess and see what happens but hey! Thats a very meta take on game dev huh

Developer

Thank you, yeah, definitely it misses a bit of feedback, we are definitely going to work on adding some features we couldn't fit on time

Perfectly balanced, as all things should be :)

This is a fun management style game, that took me a handful of tries to get the right Dolphins Per Second, but eventually got there!

Developer(+1)

Glad you liked it! and glad you brought balance to the force

Really creative idea and I loved the flavor with the feedback messages. Would have wished for some player information (their, hp, damange, etc.) to work with, though, it felt more like guesswork

Developer(+2)

Thank you! Yeah some health bars for boss and heroes was definitely on our list. We will surely add them on an update later!
