How does your game fit the theme?
my project is about foreshortened futures and how people with trauma can go through life feeling like they're on a constant count down to the end of their lives, even if they're in a safer situation now :>

I am really happy that this exist with its subtle but serious dialog and cute art style, other than that I don't have anything to add onto what the other have said.  The fact that you managed to do it all in such a short time is also something that I wouldn't have noticed if not told so I believe you did great. Thank you

Developer

awww thank you!! i do appreciate it haha

Very interesting take on a very heavy topic, I loved how you were hinting at deeper feelings with normal chit chat and choices. I saw you did this in a few hours, great job! Would love if you spent a few more to get it polished up, there's such a lovely piece here. Thank you.

Developer

Yippeee, thank you for trying it out! I'll definitely be spending some time tweaking some aspects of the game after this, I've received a lot of feedback for things to improve on and I appreciate it a lot since I didn't have time to get people to try it out before submission haha.

There's such a wonderful balance in the dialogue here between a casual chat and something much more serious under the surface. Superb job on the writing, no notes there.

The art style is also nice, but it could benefit from a little bit more movement. Maybe sean occasionally shifting in place or the doors actually opening when you click them. Something small, but a bit more movement would put you more into the world, I think.

Developer

Thank you for trying the game and i'm glad the whole casual tone was able to come through! Definitely agree on having more movement though, would definitely be something fun to work on after the game jam period :>

The art style is adorable, and the theme is very serious. I was warned, thank you. It leaves me with a sad feeling behind, whether I clicked the right words or not. You wouldn't know in real life either. (I wish I had understood sooner who Sean and I are bc I kept mixing it up.) Thank you for submitting this. I need to hug my friends now.

Developer

Thank you for playing and i hope you're feeling okay. if it helps, i definitely wanted this short story to have a happy ending. the last thing you click on is to sit down, you make a decision for yourself, for your own comfort and maybe its a small step but but i do think its something.

i did feel like the conversations were a bit hard to differentiate between sean and yourself though, thats a good point! i might see if different colours or a different location for your own responses might work better, thank you for the feedback!

I would love to play a full game in that art style!

Developer

haha thank you!

love the artstyle and writting of this game. tho there was a lack of audio and music

Developer

oh! hmmm i wonder if the train sounds are too soft! ill see if i can turn it up!

Submitted(+1)

After the first conversation I didn't understand that we had to click on the door of the train, maybe you could add something to show. But otherwise the art is really great, just the audio stopped at one time and the story is really relatable good job. And again the art is beautiful love the style

Developer

Thank you for playing! Hmmm, i wonder what happened with the audio, i'll definitely check it out! maybe once this game jam is over ill see if i can add something to the door to show that it's clickable :3

half life 2 reference?

A really interesting story and spin on the count down theme! Your game made me reflect on a personal issue (that I won't share details of, but it is related to the pressure to perform well before the end). I think it's incredible that your game made me reflect on these thoughts and it's always good to have these discussions.

Anyway I found that the simple artstyle actually fit really nicely with the theme of the game you're going for! I hope you'll have time to expand on the narrative and make even more of the art, good work!

Developer

thank you for playing it and i really enjoyed hearing your thoughts! I definitely wished I had more time to figure out what I was doing with the story and i definitely didn't feel like I was able to show enough of the story and the experience while still having it feel like a conversation between friends and not just a vent or a therapy session! it's really nice to feel like some parts of the experience still spoke to people.

fun story!

Developer

thank you!!! >:3c

hits right home insane it was made in so little time

Developer

thank you for playing and i hope youre doing okay. :> luckily the art and writing were mostly done before hand, so the six hours was just me redownloading godot and duct taping it together as best as i could 😅

A lot packed into a short game. Glad you put in the warnings below so I was prepared. I'll echo the other comments on the art being nice and clean, and I felt the narrative is that good balance between too short and walls of text.

Developer

haha thank you, im glad it didn't feel too wordy. this is probably already the longest game ive made AHAHA . thank you for playing!!

Loved the art and narration of the game. It indeed gets dark but I liked you taking a different take on the Countdown theme. Definetly love to play a full version.

Developer

thank you for trying it out!! the minute this idea for the theme count down came to my head i knew making anything else wouldn't have been as fun :>

Indeed very refreshing from all other puzzle based entries in the jam. Once again loved your art, I lack a lot in that department so I admire you taking art and narration first approach to the game. ৻(  •̀ ᗜ •́  ৻).

Got dark real quick, but I loved the simplistic artstyle, it really added to the experience

Developer

haha thank you for trying it out. >:3c

Developer

thank you for trying it out! :>

Quite the heavy topic. The story does indeed feel part anecdote. Nicely written. I love the art. Very cute!

Developer

thank youuuu!!
