Oh that's very creative! I liked feeling like a puppeteer making all the rooms do what I wanted to get my agent through safely... until I was too slow.
It takes a while for the game to click at first, but when it does, it's pretty cool seeing your (admittedly very straightforward plan) work out. As others have said, my main gripe is not being able to easily see the screen with the action after you type the commands (maybe widen the FOV a bit?). In general, it's a great idea with good execution and lots of potential. Good job!
Thanks for playing!!! The biggest thing I have learned from this is to have a few playtesters. I'm sure they would have pointed out the camera FOV issues, and I could have gone a different direction!
At some point it gets stressful, but I think that's on purpose. A tutorial would be helpful at the beginning, and maybe switching monitors without a mouse.
thank you for playing!! I could have made it more obvious. there were notes which showed how to complete the first room (an unofficial tutorial)
As for the cameras this is something which is an issue and would be reworked in hindsight . There were keybinds from the main camera perspective to switch into specific screens however I definitely could have made it clearer! They were in the left most note pad!
Quite interesting. Didn't expect to play a puzzle game with typing mechanic
Thanks for playing!!
Thought it would be hard to understand. but i learned everything pretty quickly. pretty unique game of typing commands. but the time limit is really "forced in" in my opinion. if its a puzzle game it shouldn't be about speed. wish there were more commands and more ways of utilization. but that's far to ambitious for a 4 day jam so i get that. I had a decent amount of fun. Overall a great game.
Thanks for playing!! If I had more time I definitely would have added many more distractions per room and perhaps other things(not sure what yet lol).
I agree the timer can be annoying however it only starts when the operator enters the first room so you can prepare commands up front. But if I were to make this into a fully developed game I could remove that pressure entirely.
Wow, What a Game :)
Thanks! I hope in a good way lol!!
Don't get me wrong, I liked your game, but it seems that my comment was incomprehensible.
Awesome mission control concept! Managing the 3-minute countdown while coordinating an operator's path to the package builds incredible tension right from the first room. The pressure of watching multiple camera feeds, timing distractions perfectly, and calling the shots feels highly tactical and intense. For future polish, adding a subtle radar ping or a "last known threat position" marker on the camera feed would be a great way to help players plan their next move without lowering the high-stakes difficulty. Fantastic job putting this together!
Thanks for playing!! Great idea I’ll have a look into it after the jam is completed. I have a few ideas for improvements!
nevermind, I remember
I enjoyed it SOOOO MUCH!!! Very nice idea, although, where is the theme countdown implemented??
Hey thanks for playing!! Very glad u enjoyed it! Once the operator enters the first room you have 3 minutes to get to the package. There’s a 3 minute countdown top right! Failure to finish in time results in game lost ran out of time! Perhaps you were soo good u never needed to worry about it haha
very creative idea! i like it!
Thank you!!!!
I thought sitting safely behind the cameras while an operator did all the dangerous work would make this easy, but I got them killed more than once because I overlooked one small detail 😄 Watching the rooms, creating distractions, and deciding when it was safe to send them in made me feel like a real mission controller. Really fun concept!
Thank you for playing!!! I’m really glad you enjoyed it!!
the first time i tried to play this game i didn't really know what to do. now i tried again though and i think it's a really cool concept. i played through it and idk if i did something wrong but i would've liked to see what's going on in the room while running the commands (instead of having to switch back and forth), i think it would've been really cool to see it all play out!
Thank you for playing!! I agree the camerawork definitely needs an overhaul. I do have shortcuts to switch between cameras but it isn’t an elegant solution. I think after the game jam I’ll look into better options.
Liked the idea but pretty hard to figure out what I needed to do.
Thanks for trying the game! It is complicated, especially for people who have never learned Linux/terminal stuff. I had the instructions on how to complete the first room but I do agree it definitely could have been explained further!
Cool game and cool idea, although pretty confusing, took me a long time to figure out what's going on, also agree with another commenter that it's difficult to see what's happening. Other than that, pretty cool, good game)
thank youuu! Yes I agree it may not be the most straight forward game haha! It is almost teaching the basics of Linux terminals. If I had more time maybe a proper tutorial would be nice, slowly explaining each command? I hope u were able to get to the end though!!
Loved the idea! A lot of polish, lovely 3d environment, the detail of the instructions, etc. I found it a little difficult to see what was happening at the same time as typing in the terminal. Would like to see what this would be like extended, with more long-form puzzle sequences, in a post-jam version. Great entry!
Thank you for playing!! Yes that is something I struggled with. I did create keybinds when you are in the default camera position. So if you press numbers 1-6 or c, it sends you to the target screen. However I should have implemented some kind of control + key while focused to quickly switch!
