It's a funny setting. I like the art style with the warm colours.
I think it may be better to have a lower count of invitations and make the already selected individuals not appear again. Right now it feels to me personally that in order to extend the gameplay session and reuse assets you bumped the number way up.
Thank you for the game! Good luck
Hey there! Thank you for taking the time to play the game and write feedback :)
I think the number of invitations and the length of the day needs balancing for sure, the gameplay was inspired by those duck shooters often seen at carnivals which feature a lot of repeating characters and shooting a lot of targets! Since the categories for each day change (from a random pool) and get progressively more ambiguous we were thinking having characters repeat would still be interesting. Also the pool of characters changes over time to include some of the more wacky ones on days 4-5 :). The focus of the game was more on the narrative conversations over several days and given the time constraints of the jam we could only add about 30 npcs but the focus is on variance and ability to fit into categories.
You have made a lot of characters for the jam time! My apologies if my first comment made the opposite impression.
Thank you for sharing the inspiration behind it. I understand now what the idea is.
What I mean is that at the beginning I picked only a few characters. Then the comment from God (:D if only the communication would be that easy) was that there's a lot of invitations left so I understood that I can select one character more than once. Because the characters repeat so much and there are so many invitations it broke the immersion for me. Initially it seemed like a busy street but then it is just flat 2d images going from side to side. Does that make sense? My personal opinion (which you can ignore, up to you) is that it would be more interesting to reduce the time per round (from 2 and a half minutes) and have characters "walk" from side to side once per round. That would be more engaging maybe.
Thank you for reading. I wish you a bright day.
Ah got it I see that it was more about the immersion breaking! I think we could reduce the time per round but I’m not sure I entirely agree about the repeats. But I really value your perspective on it and I think it’s something we could try and see how it feels to play :) It’s all a matter of personal taste haha. Thank you again for leaving feedback regardless I really appreciate it!
This game is so pretty to look at! I love all the assets. I can't believe I got pepper sprayed T^T Just trying to party at the end of the world
haha sorry the crazy cat lady got you, thank you for playing!
A strong concept and even stronger art. This game is just oozing with style. I want to say the art gives me Omori vibes? This was a fun one, amazing job!
Hi! Thanks so much for taking the time to play the game :) I'm the artist who pitched the art style for the game, and while Omori wasn't an intentional direct inspiration, it has been a huge inspiration to my art journey personally so it's cool that you were able to pick up on that!
Quite impressive art!
I am very frustrated because my poor English proficiency prevents me from appreciating such a rich plot text.Orz
And I encountered a bug: in the second level, I sent out all the flyers, which caused a large number of people to get stuck in the middle of the scene and these people would not disappear with the level end.
Anyway, this is really a cool game! Good job!
Beautiful art! I think i got a bug where after the first day phamplets didn't recharge and bystanders got stuck on the screen if i clicked on them. Interesting concept anyway!
loved this game so much! the art is gorgeous and i loved the dialogues and each unique character!
the art was AMAZING, i loved all the craziness with the mushrooms and aliens walking among the crowd. texting with god was hilarious too. so unbelievably creative!!
One of my favourite game in the jam so far! What a blast!
The art style is cool and polished and the dialogues are so well written. I love the game world and the premise, the gameplay is easy to understand and explained very well in the tutorial. The characters are cool and each one is unique, it was fun to speak with all of them. There is a lot of stuff for just 4 days of development!
A couple of thing could be polished, in my opinion. I found a bug where if you click on someone but you ran out of pamphlet, it just get stuck on the screen. I also found a bit weird that spacebar advance the dialogue and at the same time show/hide the clock (very cool UI there btw). Lastly, I ran out of pamphlet on day two, making the last days of gameplay a bit pointless. I would prefer to have a set amount of invites to deliver every days, instead of a bunch from the start.
Aside from this little things, it was a really fun experience. Thank you for your submission!
Hi! I’m overjoyed to see that you liked the game and the art style I worked on :) Yeah, unfortunately we ran into some last minute technical issues for the game so we ended up not having as much time for play testing as we would have liked which would have definitely helped with the balancing problems and bugs that you experienced. Thank you for taking the time to play the game and write detailed feedback it really helps!
Ran out of pamphlets, loved all the different characters but accidentally doubleclicked on a few dialogue options and got maced LOLOL great game and art! :)
Really great, the art is peak. I really love the narrative design of this game.
Tiny nitpick, I quickly ran out of pamphlets so the game became kinda boring, and I had this glitch that made a ton of characters load on screen, which tanked the performance.
Other than that I really don't have anything to say, it's really impressive.
I could never in a million years come up with this concept or all these super fun character designs. Awesome game!
So impressive that you did all of that in 4 days! The story, the humor, the art, everything was so good! I encountered a couple of places where the game was super laggy for me, but apart from that, perfect score!
This is a real gem. Loved the art, the UI, the music, the humour.. Outstanding work!
Love the use of diegetic ui also, the art style together with music is so in tune with each other. I really like it.
Lovely and funny game !
Love the ART and Writings,
good writing and the artstyle is very charming, good job!
I love this concept! The art is incedibly unique and i love how much personality it gives the game, it also beautifully intertwines with the narrative. I think a speed challenge would be great and also restocking the pamplets as well but i do like the option of meeting and talking to people and that also producing visibility options on the players end. Absolutely loved it!
Art and writing are dope.
gorgeous art style! i wish the people went by faster to make it more of a chaotic challenge. also kind of wish it would skip ahead to the end if you run out of pamphlets. really great work to the whole team!
