Really fun! A nice cross between Megaman and Metroid there x) Sometimes the movement could be a little finnicky to handle, with the jump being a little hard to control. Also did not "get" first that i had ammo on my shots, but managed to escape! The waiting-buttons added a touch of anxiety that was perfect. I can totally see this being developed into a fully fledged game! Well done :D
Very fun! I really like the story idea, the art is simple yet it fits perfectly, and the map is pretty well designed! I'd say that the movement was a little annoying in some places, like it was almost imppossible to jump on the tiny cubes, i kept jumping over them, but it didn't stop me from succesfully escaping! The spots where you have to wait for it to activate are a great addition to the anxiety of having a timer! And i also want to mention the font you chose, it's pretty cool and fitting. A fun and polished game overall! :]
really fun game! there were a lot of things in this that i really liked! keep it up! :)
Super clean execution! This is the best platforming of the jam for me. I had a scary moment in the first run where I realized ammo was finite, but I still escaped with a 33% completion rating. My next run was 83% and finally my third run found everything. I loved the trick for getting the heart. Very clever!
Glad to see someone get 100%! I wanted to make the speed booster a bit of a secret to encourage repeat playthroughs, but not so secret that it'd be impossible to discover.
Really cool! Loved the Metroidvania vibes
Really great game, love the idea of running through a metroidvania map you've never seen before and figuring it all out on the fly. Only real complaint was with the controls, the jump and ammo-switching occasionally felt unresponsive and the bullets sometimes didn't connect with the door despite me standing right next to it. Love the style though, I managed to escape in 2:49, and had a very fun time
Glad you enjoyed it! With regards to the ammo switching, I actually got a comment about it during playtesting that I never ended up addressing, but the ammo switch is S (hold) and K (tap), which seems to be less intuitive than I thought it would be.
I know the keybind, though it didn't work sometimes is what I mean. I would hold down S and tap K and it just wouldn't switch sometimes, for whatever reason.
really cool game, the movement feels super smooth, definitely a speedrun heavy concept which I like a lot
escaped in 2 minutes lol no idea how you're doing it in 39 seconds but ig that just shows how much more depth there is to it
really nice work
Impressively polished for a jam game! Great job!
Neat take on the standard Metroid escape system thing. Not too crazy but making you have to look for the collectibles *during* the escape is clever and I liked the timers that make you wait to escape an area making you more anxious about how much time you have left.
i liked metroid escape simulator
