Fun concept!! The art style fits extremely well and it's definitely a challenge to get to your goal. Would love to see more varieties of obstacles if this game is iterated and improved upon, great work :)
Interesting concept of earning more points the harder you make the experience for yourself.
Keep up the good work!
took me a while to get controls (and to start the game xD ) but i like the idea! one thing i want to ask ( and i can be dumb ) , you said you wanted to add wind? are we not in space ? xD
While not super clear in-game... or possibly the description, come to think.. the idea was that you're dropping cargo down onto a planet or moon. So the only current stage was technically on an earthlike planet (hence, not that I expect most notice, you start to slow down at 100km up: the Kármán line, which defines when you're in space above Earth).
So in regards to the wind, my naive hope at the start was to have a gas giant be the last level (strong winds, further to fall, higher gravity, et cetera). Albeit it makes less sense right now, given you don't have to aim for the landing pad either...
I just replayed it, yeah i noticed the slow down now that you said it, and now everything make sense. One thing tho, like i'm curious, if it were up to you, how would you implement the landing pad? like do you make it Horizontal so you need to land on top of it ?
The original idea was that you wanted to keep your heading on-track for the pad, so you couldn't just mindlessly dodge stuff. So.. the pad might have been a wider area, but equally, missing it would have meant a point deduction (save on the gas giant where it would be a failure).
Never got around to the specifics of mind you, further than an unused HUD marker to help keep you on course -- do have to wonder if it would make the game more annoying though ^^;
(but forgot to say, thanks for playing! >w<)
thanks i did have fun xD but idk if what you had planned wouldve made it better or more annoying. I think it would be a whole different experience. if you have spare time, maybe try and do it like you wanted?
It's always nice to come across a PICO8 game :D
amazing game, I loved having to manage the cargo’s inventory, it really made me think a lot. Good job!
damn never seen a first person pico8 game before impressive stuff
fun little pico game, my only complaint is that the run is pretty long and the game didn’t feel that engaging since the controls are really simple
In regards to run time, it's faster if your cargo's heavier, but trying not to make that too fast did impact things a little sadly.
though given it should take less than 5 minutes that isn't too long I'd hope. Time was a bit too short to refine things more than I did, sadly, but I won't deny it's not just the ship movement that's sluggish ^^;I'm... not sure what to say in regards to the controls though, can I ask what you would have regarded as more engaging?
(or was the issue more that you're just dodging the same obstacles? I'd like to have done more there but I squandered too much time early on to even add a second shape)
Don’t get me wrong the game is fun as it is, in fact i just replayed it before commenting rn ( maybe “not engaging” wasn’t the right word there ) i meant it needed maybe a complementary mechanic you know like some rings that when you pass through it gives you a speed boost or a shield, a path that you should stay on or the ability to shoot the rocks …
but yea I liked the game overall.
Ah no it's fine don't worry: constructive feedback is always welcome, but seldom given ._.
So really, thank you for the comments~
The graphics are really cool! I liked how the controls mimicked a pilot's view (or at least what I imagine a pilot screen to look like lol). Great work ^^
I tried to make it feel like an in-ship monitor so I'm glad that worked out.
thanks for playing~
Yesss, jackpot! A pico-8 game with 3d visuals in 2d, this is amazing. I really enjoyed it, the visuals and the "cargo" managing is a really nice concept, and the "countdown" to your destination - yupp! Maybe the only thing I'd wish for is some background music so it's not as empty, but honestly, what can I want when I am in the middle of space? xd Well done! :)
Thanks for playing! and I'm glad you liked the cargo loading feature~
Sadly I spend most of my time (and most of the overtime) getting the core functionality functioning and looking correct, so didn't have much time for music (and the two tracks I made for other games wouldn't fit >w<)
or should I pretend it was intentional to emulate the retro games inspiring it?*ahem*I found it interesting. a little long, but kinda fun
Was a bit difficult trying to balance it late in development: didn't want players clearing too fast when at max tonnage, but it meant lighter loads still took a few minutes >w<
No time to rework things by then though...
Glad you enjoyed it~
Really original !!! I love the immersion and the visuals !!!
Really fun game! Was a bit tough to grasp at first, but eventually got the hang of it. Lovely art too!
love it!
Very cool 3d in pico 8
love the retro style, very fun game
I love the traditional retro concept
More fun than most games I've seen on this site.

The 3D in 2D games thing is always interesting to me, and this doesn't dissapoint. It's simple but still pretty impressive for a pico-8 game. Nice work!
Glad you liked it~
