This was really fun. I think I found a bug where going to the previous room and coming back to the room you're triggers again the timer to paint, but doesn't impact the to much the experience. The concept is fantastic.

So fun. I can totally see this being turned into a full game.

even though i dont have the skill to draw, this was an amazing experience loved it!

This could be an awesome concept for a multiplayer party game, I think the format where you have to recreate well-known paintings is my favorite!

It's a pretty unique game I'd say. With a mechanic like this, this could be a game hit if it polished really well.

Developer

Thank you very much, we’ll probably polish it after the jam is over :)

Very cute game! The reactions from the bystanders is pretty neat. Good job!

Cool game :)

Nice to run into another drawing game! Very cute art and I like the moods of people reviewing it.

I ran into a couple points of player friction, like needing to wait until the timer ran out even if I finished the drawings early, and I didn't fully understand why I got scored low for some paintings. In addition I feel like there were too many options available in the drawing system which was a bit overwhelming on a time limit; I also didn't fully understand the paint fading mechanic (there wasn't much of a warning) and I also didn't understand I needed to complete all three drawings at first.

To make the drawing even smoother, you can look at Bresenham's line algorithm as a way to linearly interpolate between points when the mouse moves quickly.

Developer

Thank you for the suggestion, we’ll surely check to make the game better! We also agree with everything you said!

fellow painters! seems like you too tried new DrawableTexture2D :)

story and gameplay are really nice. got total score of 35% :D

Developer

Actually it’s hard coded using the Sprite2D node :( Didn’t know about DrawableTextures, thank you for letting us know! Also you did very good :)

Glad you did!

I feel like the brush leaving so many gaps really hinders how well I could get my drawings to work. I'm used to digital art programs working with lines when moving fast rather than dots. I get that you wanted something to check as a score, but the corner requirements are a bit silly. I think it would have been more fun with a prompt, but then of course you couldn't really give it a score I guess...

Developer

Yes, we’ll probably improve all those things once the jam is over. Thank you for the feedback!

This was fun. I got shocked when I had to paint Scream with like a few seconds left. I got 63% so I think I did fine.

Developer

You did great, thank you for playing!

I like the silly frantic painting vibes, but drawing with the timer ticking down is no joke! Nice

Developer

Thank you, the timer is a nuisance indeed !

Submitted(+2)

interesting premise but i cant figure out how the criteria stuff works so im kind of bad at the game TTTwTTT

Developer (1 edit)

Don't worry jovial! Thanks for playing, we are looking into the criteria system and thinking about ways to make it challenging but fair

Awesome game! Frantic drawing games are always fun, and having an audience reaction to my artwork was very amusing. Adding the larger canvases was a great idea, rushing to draw the Great Wave was very fun! Very good entry!

Developer

Thank you very much! Loved your game also ❤️

This is one of the most fun games i played so far in this jam! Very creative idea, fun drawing mechanic, the little emotes coming from the guys looking at the paintings are adorable and the visuals and music really sets the atmosphere! It's so silly i love it!

After finishing the second room i went back to the first room and then again back to the second, and i got locked in the second room again with the timer reset. But it was alright becuase i was allowed to paint again and i improved my paintings :D

What a fun game man..I am not much of an artist but it was really fun playing this game..I thought i could get away by drawing anything but you done a great job on ai in the game...also nice of you to add the silhouette of previous drawing after internal timer ran out..Also i must confess I was the one who stole those paintings ..sorry about that..lol Great work!!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

You are a great artist indeed, look at that fantastic lemon boi (That was a chip lel). And thank you for stealing the paintings, before it was just a game about paintings!

Thank you! Yes, the brush is a little rough, we didn’t have the time to polish it… We’re playing your game for sure!

I had a blast playing through this game, I enjoy the difficulty being raised not by shrinking the timer but increasing the canvas size and painting complexity which was very creative, seeing the reactions from the crowd is also very funny, like seeing them pass by a 80% then a 0% lol. The music stopped playing after the large canvases was introduced and the round didn't end when I sealed all my paintings at that point too (Idk if any of these are intended sorry).

Developer

Yea we didn’t had the time to fix everything unfortunately, thank you for the nice comment and for playing our game
