I do not know much about puzzles but the level of creativity of this game is compared to baba is you or portal. Awesome job!.... however, for me it a little frustrating. Actually I got stuck, I am sorry I could not complete the game.

perhaps I should have insisted using the key at the beginning.

Very good game overall. Good job!

Extremely creative game! The way the torches switch if they break your current link with another torch is great, and you utilize this mechanic very well. The fact that you have to wait for some torches to go out because they would reduce your time if you walked past them is also cool. One thing I must say is that somewhere after the section where you must switch between many torches, I didn't know where to go because there were so many paths backwards, and I simply activated a torch which I didn't know would activate and essentially lost half of my progress. I tried again and the same thing happened, so I really don't know how to finish this game unfortunately, but it was very very cool, great puzzles!

Weirdly intuitive for how little information is presented up front. Despite the little feller being just a purple dude the game was pretty atmospheric as well. Well designed puzzles as well. Good work!

interesting concept, now my brain hurt. good work! :)

Very cool concept!

Great game and i love the concept. I really like the free exploration aspect of it, although I think its possible to get stuck in one of the 999s cooldown level, with no way of going back in enough time

Oh nvm! I just didnt understand how it worked

Very creative take on the concept an the idea of a metroidbrainia!

That was really creative! I'm not usually a puzzle game player but I liked how committed your game is to allowing the player to proceed. It's like the classic problem with stealth games that caused the surge of players looking for "stealth optional" missions lol. Anyway - This was very hands on and felt fun to play. Great work!

I loved how you saw the theme and implemented it perfectly inside your game. Just wanna say good job!

Really cool concept!

Truly amazing. I never saw a game quite with that kind of mechanics. The puzzles get progressively more challenging, and the final one was a good final puzzle. The ticking sound when it rewinds does get a bit annoying after a while, and rewinding can take quite a while for longer lasting flames. So it would have been nice if rewinding either sped up with time, or pressing R a second time made it rewind faster.

It was a lot of fun.

I really like the game; it is cool, and it feels like the level design is a tool to teach the player how the game works, something that is always appreciated.

Would like to play a more polished version of this if you ever continue development!

Dang, creative idea. It took me awhile to figure out how the fires correlated to time (tbh, i'm still not sure I totally understand it), but I think you presented it well enough. I will say I struggled a bit trying to figure out where to go, and that coupled with the mystery of the mechanic itself made the first several minutes somewhat of a trial-and-error mess for me. I think if you included some subtle directional elements in the background or the foreground, it might help direct players and minimize that feeling of being lost (unless that's exactly the feeling ur intending, or maybe you did and Im just blind). I also don't know if the ambient cave noise is doing the game justice, and I might've been more properly engaged with a more suitable music track, but perhaps that's just artistic preference. Overall, this game reminds me of Kingdom Two Crowns in how the primary mechanics of the game are something that the player has to learn through observation, and that's a great thing.

Incredibly clever! Once I realized how the lamps were working, the depth of the game nearly made my jaw drop! I would love to make my way through the whole game, but I will say that there were a few quality of life changes that might make it a bit smoother to play.

For one, I could see that the light from the lamp indicates the radius at which you get connected to it, but because the light doesn't effect the background layer, it can sometimes be hard to tell where that hitbox ends. This is especially problematic for an area I found where you have to jump over lower numbered lamps in order to keep your high number.

I would also love to see some indicator of whether a lamp is currently at its max number. There was one spot where i couldn't see how to progress until i just messed around with different lamps that at first felt extraneous, because i didn't realize another one had a higher number i could rewind to. And that felt less like solving a puzzle than a cheat.

But overall, fantastic work! This is a really cool concept that I could see you expanding into a mind-bending puzzle game on the level of Ooo or Leap Year!

Great puzzles! I loved figuring out the path through, even if I didnt beat it lol

Love a metroidbrainia, and lots of clever little layers to discover about this one! Having different "creation times" for torches and being able to rewind to different points in time was a mind blowing discovery once I finally figured it out. Great entry!

This is a really creative idea for sure, it took me a while to understand the game mechanics. Good job!
