I love thats a pico-8 game and that the player is so small. I like most that you can die on switches to get further. And I feel like that so fun on its own that for a game jam you can focus on only that feature and make a game around that. Anyway happy to see other pico 8 submissions!
Thanks for playing :)
Love Pico 8, it's so perfect for Jams.
true, the limitations are basically a buff.
Interesting! I really really really like the idea of finding codes out in the world that you go back to the computer to enter to unlock things. That's really neat. I think the use of countdown as a countrown for your robots to leave your control is pretty cool as well. Clearly a lot of work and effort went into this one.
This is a really creative game, I think it has a lot of potential to be expanded upon too!
Thanks for playing. Yeah, I really like this idea. Definitely playing around with it in the future. Working on the patch to upload as soon as the jam judging period is over, and I already have a some ideas for additional units and puzzle mechanics. Sadly this very small prototype, already eats up all of pico8's cartridge space. So only way to expand is make a sequel or use a different engine. Maybe it's finally time to learn godot. . .
I used Godot for the first time this jam, its got a bit of a learning curve, but after using mostly Unity and some Unreal its imo easier than those. You got this!
Thanks :)
I've never learned either of those 2. Only ever used Pico, hopefully my toaster of a laptop is at powerful enough to run it.
Godot is really lightweight compared to the others, I would recommend that if you are developing on a lower end system. I would say all my compile times and just time spent waiting for things was more than cut in half compared to even unity.
Did a quick "can you run it?" check and apparently I'm above even the recommended specs. Must be suuuuuper light weight.
Woah, I didn't expect to find Pico8 games in the jam! That's super rad.
Really dig the graphical style. Super creative ideas, too (manufacturing more characters to solve puzzles, finding codes to manufacture different characters)
Definitely one of the most unique I've seen thus far!
Thanks for playing. :)
Yeah, I always use Pico 8 for Jams. Good way to keep things simple and focussed (He say's after feature creeping so hard that his submission is an unfinished janky mess. 😅)
Love pico-8 games. Didn't get that far in this playthrough but will return to explore more of the ship!
Thank you so much for playing. I'd recommend following and waiting until the jam judging period is over and I can upload the big patch. :)
Nice game — the core concept feels fun and polished.
Thanks for playing!
Love this concept too! Definitely playing around with it more in future.
Edit: I really like your game btw! :)
Heey - I was really enjoying this one. Remonded me of a heap of Commodore64 games or NES games from way back. Puzzles were actually quite hard to figure out but had that 'a-ha' moment. Unfortunately for me, the sound didn't work after the cart load 'da-ding' sound - I tried a few things, so maybe an error oin the browser or something?
Overall, was actually really nice :D
Thank you for playing!
Sadly didn't have time to add the audio code to the cart before the deadline. Forgot to put that in the known bugs section. Thank you for reminding me :)
The concept for this game is so cool, I wish the rest of it was a bit more polished so it was overall a better experience. But having a time limited remote connection to robots to solve puzzles with limited resources is soooo clever!
Thank you so much for playing!
Yeah, this one is definitely getting polished up post-jam. (The irony of making a janky game about janky tech is not lost on me lol.)
