Great, apparently I'm going into work every after the company has gone bust. I must really like clocks.
The BLUF of this game sounds like something I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole. But I was genuinely engaged in weeding out the duds. I made it to Sunday I think before eventually falling foul. My undoing was clocks that were running too fast. I think this was because I was also running too fast; I would speed through all of my various checks, usually spotting the slow clocks, but the faster stopwatches and countdown clocks often evaded me.
I thankfully avoided most if not all of the reported bugs, so I had a pleasant experience in that regard. The only potential issue I stumbled across was the alarm on the omni clock - it did not sound at all right and I couldn't fathom if it was intentional or not. But it was often a point of failure for me. It kind of sounding like the audio was playing twice or something.
I really enjoyed the variety of clocks, and variety of checks that needed to be conducted, but none felt like they were out of the way to do. Most can be done in a few seconds, so the game had a nice pace to it.
I enjoyed this all the way through. I do think there's so low hanging fruit with accessibility and perhaps tutorialising the manual a bit more, but this a really nice entry. Thank you.
Glad to hear that the game was engaging, even to the last day! Good to hear that the pacing was okay as well. It's definitely easy to forget a few checks when you're trying to get through so many by the end. For the alarm on the omni clock, it's possible that you were triggering both the countdown alarm and regular alarm at the same time, that can cause some strange doubling up of sound. Definitely something that would be fixed in a more polished release but we didn't get to it.
I agree that there are some easy accessibility tweaks as well as other options that could be added, they were cut for time but I'm learning from this jam that little things like that add a lot to the polish of a game. Something to keep in mind for the future!
For some reason the alarm clocks would not trigger at all for me, but nevertheless still really enjoyed it, great work!
Alarms should automatically trigger five seconds after pressing the button, I think we could have been more clear about how that worked. If you did wait 5 seconds and it didn't trigger I'd be interested to know, we never ran into that issue in our own testing. Glad you enjoyed regardless, thanks for playing!
Ah, I see, I misunderstood the text - I thought the alarms were supposed to ring 5 seconds after arriving, not 5 seconds after I push the button. Just tested it out and it works fine, so I’m off to clock in for another shift!
Great to hear it works for you, and I appreciate you taking the time to give our game another try!
Interesting concept. I did get fired in the end. I had quite some problems with playing the game as it was scaling incorrectly and placing a good part of the clock outside the screen and only when I zoomed out the tab to 70 percent could I start flipping the clocks around!
I think I got to the end though, just not the good end
Play-through:
Wow, thank you for taking the time to record your playthrough! I appreciate the opportunity to watch your journey through the game and learn how we can improve our games in the future. You definitely had some fair points for small improvements we could have made!
I'm sorry you encountered this bug, it seems to be related to the resolution of the game and we've updated our game's description with a fix for those who encounter it. I'm guessing it's a problem for those with 4k monitors specifically, as neither my 1080p or 1440p monitors have the same issue on 100% zoom.
Thanks for playing, and for sharing your playthrough with us!
Cool idea! Never knew I’d enjoy doing quality control so much. My clocks were stuck in the bottom right so I couldn’t see serial numbers or test the alarm, but otherwise much enjoyed it! Was neat to ‘feel’ how long a second was when clocks were fast/slow.
Sorry to hear you encountered that bug, turns out to be related to the game resolution. We've looked into it and added a note to the game description for future players on how to fix it. Glad you were able to enjoy some aspects regardless, thanks for playing!
Great job tracking it down! Thanks for adding the note, I went back and got to see the magnificent omni-clock!
This was a really cool idea - I loved the menu, that was such a neat touch! I found myself struggling a little with distinguishing the blue font when 'stopwatch' came up, but this was such a fun little game and really intuitive to play!
Also, the writing is really good - gave me a few chuckles as I was going along. Great work, team!
Some of the colored texts could definitely have been more readable shades, it's an unfortunate side effect of changing the text background color and never going back to change the text itself. Glad you enjoyed the writing and menu! Thanks for playing!
Love how you did the main menu. I've always been dog water at reading analogue so am genuinely grateful for the practice. Keep it up!
I had fun making that main menu, glad you liked it! Thanks for playing!
What a simple and elegant idea! Lovely stuff. I love how it utilized a real life object and made a game out of it.
Glad you enjoyed, thanks for playing!
Very very cool idea, and well executed. All the different clocks having their own intricacies made this really enjoyable, and the progression pacing was perfect for a jam. Great job.
Great to hear you enjoyed our game, thanks for playing!
Cool game, pretty good for players who don't like speedruns.
Glad you liked it, thanks for playing our game!
Very creative game, I would've never though of literally stepping on seven segment display, good job!
Thanks for playing our game!
Neat game! Loved the creativity with all the different clocks and combining them all together to make the omni clock! Definitely was nice to get a stopwatch after a couple of omni clocks lol
I can definitely relate, a simple stopwatch was always a relief during playtesting runs. Glad you thought the omni-clock was fun as well, we had fun making it! Thanks for playing!
i had fun playing it, i lost my first run to alarm clocks because i couldnt figure out when the alarm would play. and i figured out that i am not as good at roman numerals as i thought i was. It was a fun experience though! The art honestly feels kind of nostalgic to me, like those old browser games. The main menu being a clock is really cool too.
That's good to know, we probably should have left a note about the alarm in the manual as well. I'm glad we were able to bring you some browser game nostalgia, I loved those old games too. Thanks for playing!
Great game! I panicked when I got to the omni clock lol. Great variation in gameplay, it was fun finding all the little imperfections in each clock, great work!!!
Thanks for playing our game and for the kind words!
the clock sound of the clock is really good. I liked youre idea :D
nice entry
Glad to hear you enjoyed it!
