How does your game fit the theme?
Spoiler warning. The candle on the desk is the countdown. The game is a picture book about a girl growing up — seven chapters, from the candle on her first birthday cake to the morning she walks out the front door. Each chapter you read burns the candle down one notch, and it can never be relit taller: growing up only goes one way. When the flame dies, the book closes. And then it rewinds — and shows you one small secret from the family.

Amazing, what animation, what a narrative. I can't even imagine how you managed to do such a thing in three days. The plot is also catching

I can tell that you are a great artist! Also good at coding too :) This game was super cool and I really enjoyed it. I love the mystery aspect you incorporated too, very successful for sure as some of them tend to not do nearly as well :)

Side note: guys if you are reading this please take some time and play my game! I haven't gotten a lot of views and this game would be for you if you like puzzles. I also play the games of everyone who commented on mine so it would be so nice of anyone to play! (excuse me for borrowing your game post to comment this, feel free to delete this comment if you wish)

I like how this game is more than meets the eye :)

visually stunning! Awesome concept. I had problems with the first chapter that when you move via A and D and click to hold the item and try to go back that i was stuck on the right page.

This was a great concept, really intersting, I loved discovering all the lore youve created

A beautifully devastating game about the weight of time. The burning candle is a brilliant metaphor—simple, irreversible, and deeply nostalgic. It doesn't just tell a story about growing up; it makes you watch the wax melt.

Great and touching story! It really captures what it feels like to grow up in an East Asian family, and what the “countdown” truly means under such context. I really like the flows in the first three chapters, and all the inner details also help shape the general narrative. Once the countdown to “the exam” ends, life may just begin.

Thank you for such meaningful comments! Yeah, That's what we want to show! We're all just at the beginning ~

Wonderful story! Also honestly the placeholder art that was there in places didn't feel out of place much at all, which I think is pretty impressive

Developer

Thank you so much! We’re really glad you enjoyed the story. We were a little worried that the placeholder art might feel inconsistent, so it’s wonderful to hear that it still blended in well!

It looks really. I love the idea of playing on a book and I love the art.
I would have preferred the text to display more quickly.
