Game feels very smooth and quite fun. Clean and minimalist assets too. It's super interesting to see people who interpret the theme of countdown without timers!

Developer

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of games with timers. Artificial pressure, and sudden failure that you can't really do much about. I think that in most cases having timers for timers sake is a little bit lazy. You can sometimes justify them with more context, and you can build them into the core mechanics in clever way. Mostly though, I think they're not great game design.

There are a ton of other ways you could interpret the theme. Count (as in enumerating a sequence) Down (as in broken or offline) for example. Countdown was a popular TV quiz show in the UK too...

Anyway, thanks for playing and reviewing!

Very nice - both the core mechanics and the exploration of the mechanics with wildly varying ideas. There's no filler here.

I'm not normally a fan of physics puzzles (too imprecise) but I was happy to play these out. I really appreciate that you were very open about being able to skip levels. I did skip some that were a bit too hard but I feel like I got the value out of them anyway, and because of that feature I was able to see it through to the end. Nice job!

I think the ability to skip levels is almost essential in a Jam context (assuming you have 'levels' in your game). If you've made content, you want people to see it really. Given how little time people have and how many games there are, and my own behaviour, I know how likely people are to keep trying a level they aren't beating easily.

Thanks for the kind comments!

I found it just a tad annoying when I overshot the countdown, but it was nice how each level was very unique. Great job :D

Developer

The game is about figuring out an approach that doesn't go over. Sometimes it's impossible, sometimes it's skillful, sometimes it more luck based (eg, the last level).

Thanks for the kind words!

I love the variety in the mechanics and the direction you take the theme to ! Although i did find the texts a bit jarring since they are just anywhere and not really informative, btw loved the expressiveness , i can see this be a great mobile game

Developer

It actually runs really well on mobile, although it wasn't specifically designed for it. It's a bit fiddly trying to grab the smaller things, and your finger tends to be in the way.

Thanks for the kind words!

Really creative, lots of variety in levels, nice touch with allowing players to skip levels, I know for me I would have got frustrated at a few, ended up having a great time. Fab job!

Developer

Thanks for your kind words! Glad you enjoyed it.

Very creative. Havent played that many physics based games yet. Was a nice change of pace. Definitely would be a fun mobile game.

Developer

It does actually run on mobile. The design doesn't exactly work, essentially your finger is too big and covers up the thing you're trying to move! Also, no keyboard means you can't easily restart levels etc, but that could be easily fixed with a few buttons.

Super creative! I loved the funky physics, and combined with the artstyle it really reminded me of Pikuniku! Great job!

Developer

Thanks. I totally get the reference to Pikuniku there too, that's a great game. I didn't actually have that in mind when making mine though. I probably had my entry from a few years ago, "Reversegle" in mind, if anything.
