I don't know how your brain thought about the match sticks but i find this so fun haha, i enjoyed my time with this game, good work! :D
I love the concept and how you interpret the theme into a valid gameplay, cool!
WOW! this is a really clever concept and incredibly well executed. Keep going, add some juice and I'd love to play again
Wow this is amazing! The modifiers and powerups felts really effective and unique and the core gameplay is just brilliant!
nice
It was quite fun, and the perks/debuffs stayed interesting and varied throughout my playthrough.
One thing I would suggest is showing what changed after this round’s debuff while choosing the powerup for this round since I had multiple situations where the powerup UI was covering the entire board, then I made a wrong choice and had to reset the game (since I couldn’t undo the powerup choice) as there was literally no valid digit configuration I could change the board into :D As it’s often said, bad choices should feel like they are entirely the player’s fault.
also, like those ‘gotcha’ match puzzles, I think it would be a fun idea to allow having two digit one’s in a single 7-segment (for example, this could be read as 11:
where x represents the empty space in a 7-segment.)
This is honestly just genious! At first glance it looks so simple, but 2 rounds in and the hazards and powers have completley changed how you need to think and made it a real thoughtprovoking puzzle! Having to not only figure out something to do this round, but also having to think multiple steps ahead for the following rounds, just to get those damn ants and suddenly you need to rethink everything!
I'm just in awe of the game design behind the core idea and of the hazards&powers! For a game about moving matches!? Fantastic job! :D
That's such a delight to discover all these games and be surprised by how smart people manage to interprate the theme. I'm really impressed by your game. The challenge is really, it is beautifully crafted and gameplay is really fluid and efficient. I've done a few run already and couldn't manage to do the countdown fully but I'm not desperate!
Congrats!
A challenging and fun puzzle game. I think at one point the placement of the ants made it so I had no valid moves left, but I still had fun! I played it several times, I never got to a win but that's the sign of a good puzzle game is replayability. I liked how the different rules changed and you have to adapt your strategy to them. The game overall was nicely polished too
Thank you for playing!
Very creative idea and fits the jam perfectly!
I haven't beaten the game yet, but I have done several attempts. There is plenty of variance that makes it very replayable. Some situations felt very unfair, but that is part of the game.
Excellent work!
I really like the design of this game where you have to constantly adjust things to narrow down the numbers. It not only fits the theme perfectly but also makes a simple operation require thinking about future directions. Since my own game is also centered around seven-segment displays, seeing a different interpretation of the same theme really makes me happy.
Very cool! If you have time you should rate our game as well!
yep this is sick
the game jam strategy of turning anything and everything into a roguelike genuinely has no limits, this is awesome
a lot of the time when making a roguelike with these kinds of choice based mechanics that require the player to think about synergies and whatnot, it's easy to make a lot of stuff that sounds interesting on paper and the player ends up barely reading anything and picking the easiest thing to understand, but I think here it's done very beautifully, the random events are giving you a reason to use all the different upgrades, the UI is very readable which is unbelievably important for a balatro-like, honestly this is stellar
and on top of that it fits the theme perfectly, and the design variety is crazy, every single time I read a new item I was like oooohhh that's sick, that's well designed
just a random thought, imagine an item that allows you to write 6's and 9's without the overhang and only using 5 sticks? I'm especially used to 9's being like that in 7-segment displays so I just thought that could be cool
anyway this is a fantastic jam entry, ++
This is one of my favorites. Really fun and clever. I beat it on my second try. Great game, great job!
thanks for playing!
Super creative little game! I really like the way it makes you think about how to slowly make your way down to zero, great job!
I really liked it! It wasn't obvious at first that 1. I must not do 0000 on the first turn and 2. the 30 moves are shared, but once I understood the basics it felt like a nice puzzle, challenging but feasible :)
thanks for playing!
game was fun, loved just getting steady hand and ignoring hazzards for 5 hands in a row :)))
thanks for playing!
That's a very interesting puzzle game. I think some hazards could be more balanced, but it as a great potential and very good gameplay ideas. That's really challenging game for people who love puzzles like me, great work! 😄
Thanks for playing. Sorry about some harsh hazards, run out of time for balancing
I love the melodramatic music for what the gameplay is. I wish there was a clearer indication that we’re supposed to reach 0000 by the end, but once I got it I had fun! All the different rules and hazards can get a little overwhelming though.
The artwork and the sfx were very nice!
thanks for playing!
Damn, I did not expect to need my brain this much!
I love the soothing music, minimal, non-imposing graphics and atmosphere. It completely belies how ruthless the math and random “obstacles” can be!
Really solidly done, it is well executed and hooked (and took) me for far longer than I expected.
Great job, truly!
