Very cool idea! Some jumps were hard to make, and some coyote time would really help. Thanks for the game!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Yeah after submitting I realized I should've rounded the bottom of the platform colliders (so you don't hit your head as often on jumps) and added coyote time. Thanks for playing!

Very cool idea. I loved the little guys speech bubbles. The game looks very cool. And the main mechanic is also very solid. Found a bug where if I keep walking into the wall going left I just keep getting time back :D Thank you for making this. Was there any music? I was like looking for an option :D

Developer(+1)

Yeah the bug with walking into the wall is a known thing, I kept meaning to patch it but forgot about it before submission. Regarding sounds, there are none cause I put most of my time into learning to draw my own tileset and didn't have time to do music. Next game jam though I'm going to try to learn lmms so I can make some

the game is pretty neat, i like the art and the level design, i can keep backing up into like a wall or smt forever for more time tho

Pretty fun concept with some good art! I did run into a bug where I was stuck on the rewind screen on the last level, but it wasn't too big of an issue as getting back there after reloading the page was fairly quick. I wouldn't mind playing again if you ever add more levels and some audio to enhance the experience.

I had a fun time playing through the whole game, it was short but the time rewind mechanic was cool! I also thought it was super neat how you could rewind your own death.

Really nice interpretation on the count down theme., very ambitious proposition. It's too bad you didn't get to design more levels!

Had fun playing it!

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks! I was struggling to design levels that would teach the player the mechanic all of day 4, and then the moment the deadline hits I had an epiphany on how to design more levels to make a more gradual learning curve lol.

Thanks for playing!

Interesting take on the theme. The time rewind mechanic was pretty ambitious, and it was cool to see it work out well and be used on the guards! There were a couple of bugs (I'm sure you know the ones), and I was a bit confused to why I couldn't jump over that guard early on, but overall I enjoyed it. Nice effort!

Its like superhot 2d but with fuel, very interesting. I only miss that the enemies dont come back on rewind the level, apart from that it was a nice gameplay. Well done!

Developer

Oh that's totally something I should've done! Thanks for the idea!

There's something so satisfying about taking the bullet from mid air, walking away, then walking back up to the guards to taunt them. Even if it was to my detriment, I did this to every guard, every time! The game demonstrates the core mechanic very well, and it would be nice to see a continuation!

I went into this game blind and was surprised by the rewind mechanism and bullet-catching action; such a nice take on the theme and interesting mechanism. I like the pixel art and the out-of-time punishment, but a bit sad when I realized I couldn't jump over most of the enemies.

Impressive idea!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing :) The pixel art is high praise coming from your game

This is such a clever mechanic for a game, enjoyed it very much! Even the pausing and grabbing mechanic is well done and I really like the little confused dialog of the enemy guys. :))))

There's an infinite time glitch when you stand aside a wall and just press left there while not moving. But overall sick idea, a lot of potential

Developer(+1)

Yeah, I kept meaning to patch the infinite time glitch but something else kept coming up, and in the end I figured I'd keep it lol

Thanks for playing my game!

tying the movement of time and counting down and up depending on movement is really unique, kinda reminds me of superhot

was initially a bit confused about not being able to just jump over enemies n stuff tho

notes:

  • the “being trapped in the time loop” and enemies running out of bullets mechanics seem a bit confusing. im guessing you lose time overall by walking and if you hit enemies? still not fully sure what leads to enemies running out of bullets tho
  • the grab mechanic doesnt seem to do much either
  • slight bug with the timer where if you use a launch pad going backwards, it’ll rewind further than it should (infinite time glitch)

overall tho, really cool concept and the pixel art is awesome!

Developer

Thanks for playing!
I was having trouble figuring out how to teach the player about the grab/takedown mechanic. The idea was that if you grab the bullet and rewind time past the point when the enemy would've shot you, the next time they shoot their gun jams.
