How does your game fit the theme?
In the non-tutorial levels, you have a limited number of placeable blocks to use, and the count of blocks reaching 0 while not being near the finish leaves you unlikely to beat the level. AKA Reach the end before you run out of blocks and you'll be alright.

(Optional) Please credit all assets you've used
Most of the art and audio assets in the game were made by Kenney, and taken from his All In One asset pack.

Not the Wilhelm scream 🙈

I managed to beat the game! But I will say, I didn't really realise that I would have things other than the platform in placement mode until rather late through the playthrough. However, the arrows you placed as guidance really helped a lot! Good job :)

Developer

How late? I believe the first level you get a block (trampoline) other than a platform is level 2, which isnt too late into the game, but the level is impossible to my knowledge without it so I don't see how you would have missed it... unless you're just really good and managed to use only platforms to beat the level somehow. Anyway, thanks for the feedback!

Submitted

I actually thought the trampoline was just a smaller platform haha

Idea for a gameplay is neat but character controller felt more frustrating than fun because mostly I needed precision not speed :/

Developer

Fair. I think having a physics based character will make it much harder to control, and I tried to minimise that difficulty with the speed slider but I agree that the game speed doesn't do a whole lot once the character is in the air.

Fun game and concept, well polished too!

Developer

Thank you! I worked very hard on it 😭

A very polished mechanic! The amazing game feel made me want to keep playing. It’s a small but clever and well-crafted game, and the block-based “Countdown” mechanic fits the theme perfectly!

Developer

Thank you, I was worried the block countdown mechanic was a bit of a stretch but it's nice to hear the opposite!

Solid Game. Pretty fun physics and idea. But when u place a block through a player while he is in contact with the floor and the block is placed on his upper portion,  he just phases through the floor :), Other than that, W game!

Developer

Valve used an immense amount of playtesters during the creation of portal to ensure the game was fun and bug free. I reckon they could have instead had you for ten minutes and made an even better game. Anyway, thank you for playing my game.

Pretty fun. Little tough to control the ball, probably needs a bit more acceleration. The different levels were unique enough to keep things interesting.

Developer

Thank you! Just so you are aware, you can use shift to increase the ball's acceleration.

Cool twist of using scroll wheel to adjust game speed. I wish you could have seen my eyes go wide in realization when I did it for the first time.

Developer

When you say realisation I hope you don't mean you found out way after the tutorial...

This was so fun! I loved it, may have drowned my lil ball guy a few too many times, but once I got the timing right I had an absolute ball of a time :D Well done for making this! Incredible to fit all of this level design in with the game features in such a short time period.

Developer

Thank you so much! I was a little worried I didn't do enough playtesting before releasing this but hearing stuff like this is quite relieving!

Submitted

Cool take on the theme! It really did remind me of the old Red Ball games, very similar (and slightly frustrating) controls. Well done!

Developer

Thank you! I know the controls are a little annoying, I really should have added coyote time lol

Submitted

pretty fun. enjoyed how stupid the sounds were lol. speaking of stupid i cant finish the last level 😭😭

Developer

Which part? If its the first part I agree that I probably didn't telegraph what you had to do well enough...

Submitted

the one with the 2 teleports one trampoline and 2 basic long blocks. i couldnt pass the gap

Developer

I know of two solutions, one of which is basically what you did at the start of the level

Submitted

how do you know what i did at the start of the level ',:\

ARE YOU IN MY WALLS

Developer

come on man what else are you gonna do at the start of the level without screwing yourself over for the rest of it lol

Submitted

two portals and 2 blocks?

Developer (1 edit)

It was a huge mistake not saying the portal has a 0.1s cooldown. If you are going fast enough, you will go through the portal and onto the trampoline. You should only need a single portal to get past the first gap. I know. I really should have said in the game but I was worried it wouldn't make sense.

Great game! I really liked the slowing down scroll wheel

Developer

Thanks! I thought it would be a good accessibility feature to let people play levels at their own pace yk
