How does your game fit the theme?
In Control Countdown, the countdown isn't a timer , it's your actual controls. The game counts down every single input you make, turning a high-speed platformer into a puzzle about input efficiency and momentum. You have to reach the goal before the countdown ends.

Thanks for making the game!!!

The controls felt really solid. Nice feeling of impact when you hit a spike too. Really forces you to rethink how you usually play platformers, especially with learning to not do micro adjustment before a pit

Thank you so much !!

Very cool game the levles is so good. If you have a second, I’d super appreciate a rating back on my game The Last Light

Developer

Thank you, sure!

I like the puzzle platformer concept and hope my rating helps you in the final hours. You have a solid controller.

Really fun idea! Making it so the count down was the number of inputs you made, was a really clever and interesting take on the theme, I like it a lot :3

Thank you so much :)

This one was fun, admittedly it didnt feel like it did too much with its mechanic to me, I kinda just played the levels normally without thinking about the move count and it worked out, but it was still a fun platformer

Developer

Thank you so much! I will make better level system after Jam :)

The idea is good. The aesthetics are good.

There are just few minor problems;

  • The game end too abruptly when there are no moves left. It kinda ruins the flow
  • Time windows for player inputs are too small. The game is completable, but it is difficult to achieve. In a precision platformer a player have the freedom to make small adjustments whith their inputs. But when the inputs are limited player needs to stop are start pressing buttons at very precise moments. which is not bery fun fot majority of players. It could be alleviated with few adjustments:
    • larger gaps for player to enter like wider holes to drop into
    • decreasing max fall speed
    • decreasing overall max speed of a character
    • making field o vision larger so player can see more obstacles in front of them

Great execution overall. I really enjoyed playing!

I love platforming games, and I've participated in two GMTK Game Jams. All of my games have been platformers, so I really appreciate a good one. I loved the simple art style and the creative level design. This is one of the best games I've played across all the game jams I've participated in. If you have any other games, I'd definitely be interested in playing them. Keep up the great work!

Developer

Thank you so much!! soo happy to hear that :)

As promised here's my feedback:

The main mechanic is interesting, kinda gives you a reason to think about what you have to do.

I really really love the sound effects, they don't feel annoying and work well with the style of the game.

I only wish the game had a few more levels and that it was a bit more difficult.

This was all that came to mind. good job and good luck :)

Really cool game, fun idea! Holding the input to not spent any more 'controls' was a really nice idea, and the levels are designed to force you to make use of it. Great work, congratulations!

Developer

Thank you so much  bro!! I so happy you liked it :)

Creative and fun idea, the platforming feels really good as well! Personally I didn't get any bugs but some sections feel more like a rage game (almost no time to react to spikes) whereas I think focusing on the puzzle aspect would've been even better.

Developer(+1)

Thank You! I will definitely take a look at that :)

Pretty good game! Did notice a few glitches, like how I was teleported straight into a wall when beginning a level. But I like the concept, and the game is good and is fun to play.

Developer

Thank you so much. yep, I will take a look into that.

This is really fun and i would love to see more levels in this, sadly there were bugs that would clip me into walls and stuff at start, i do not know why it happens, luckily i could just reset to escape. I really loved it!

Developer

I am glad you liked!! Yeah I have to fix it,Thanks for the bug report :)

Nice game! The concept is interesting, as a person with limited ability for platformers i found it really hard. But I know platformer enthusiats would love it

Thank you so much :)
