Very fun to play, the art is also amazing :) I found the gameplay is creative and satisfy to play
Really fun to play game! in the last level i summoned at least 2000 troops all at once, and it made the game a bit laggy, but the artworks and the music and the SFXs of this game is really enjoyable, great work! and in my opinion, this game would be on the top list.
Reminds me of clash of clans with how you setup your base and the troops. Noticed that the game tends to be solved with just the OP melee and ranged angels that are unlocked in the next levels barely used the first weaker ones after that. Still pretty cool artstyle, plot and music :D
Ah, an RTS. An eerily familiar one, as outside this jam I'm also working on a game with swarm-based battles. So I'm definitely one to enjoy this sort of ongoing battle constantly going on in the background. The units look really good, and it's fun to watch them duke it out.
If there was one thing to improve design-wise, I feel like the economy would be one. Right now building a large army seems essentially free, resources aren't a factor, you just need to wait a little. Although maybe that's not 100% accurate, as the levels seem to use building space as a resource. It sometimes works at the very beginning, where you need to win the first battle to place more buildings, but it's not really a concern later.
I like what the "next stage" button becomes at the very end 😄 And it's cool how you came up with different sounds for ordering different types of units around.
You're working on *what*? 👀
Yeah we made away with economy and instead made real estate into the primary resource, early levels just have plenty of space mainly to teach mechanics and encourage the player to swarm. We were heavily inspired by Buggos which does something similar. Ideally enemies should have been able to attack you, adding a time constraint and making time into a resource as well but we had to scrap that for all but the last level. There is a ton of stuff that ended up on the chopping block, such as pre-placed repairable structures that do unique things, defensive towers and so on. Right now the design just revolves around more real estate = more unit production or stronger units if you decide to invest into the buildings that buff all units instead, but there's a ton we can play with if we go full project on this.
Also thanks for playing the game! Your game cooked so much this year I hope it gets the attention it deserves
Really cool design. The controls were a bit wonky at times. Probably not enough feedback on the commands visually, I had a couple movement commands that I couldnt figure out how to get rid of and was kinda stuck. But other then that really cool concept, art is great, music is great. Levels were fun!
Super fun game. Very fleshed out and polished for a 4 day jam.
The art is impeccable, sounds are satisfying and coherent without getting too annoying. Took a couple of levels before I realized the limitations of their short lifespans and demand for more forward unit production.
Overall I enjoyed it a lot, and would play angel zerglings again.
W1K! Ace seeing another Jam from you (Plan-Et rocked)! And another ace entry too; artwork is absolutely on-point, the narrative is super-well written and had me laughing out loud at my desk, and just watching 6 billion angels slowly flood the playfield like tiny holy ants marching merrily into certain death with a smile absolutely sent me, couldn't get enough! All worked super-well with the theme too which is the cherry on the cake.
Another great Jam!
The art is insane. More cute noise would have been perfect. Great job.
I have played your cute angel game now you have to play my cute demon game. 👿👿
ANGELCRAFT : WINGS OF CUTENESS

(i will definitely wait for more games from ya)
It's like They are billions but player is the 'billions'!
I really love those unique, charming audio cues when performing move orders, it feels really great when steamrolling enemies with bunch of xylophone and horn sounds.
My only nitpick is that it seems like there are far more count ups than count downs, but I love this game. Excellent work!
I really liked the conquer and build more troops loop ! Simple yet fun !
Nah, this game is so funny, and so cute as well LOL. I can't stop smiling while playing this, the art and the characters are just well-made. Great Jam game, couldn't ask for more than this.
SUPER cute artstyle, very inspiring!! glad to see such a different game on here in this RTS style, i feel like its a style thats dying a bit so i always love to see it!
it could use some more visual flair for even better game feel, and the environment art could be a bit more detailed too, but the building and character art is fantastic, the itch page is super pretty too
