I played your game after you said we had a very similar idea, and we did indeed ! I love the fast fps gameplay, simple yet very effective with an interesting and intricate level design. I had a lot of fun playing Count Til Dawn ! Also looooove the dancing vampire animation :) Gg
Thanks so much for playing!! The embarrassingly long time I spent on the dancing count gif has finally paid off x)
Fun lil parkour game !! I like having to use the shadows to hide from the sun, esp with creative stuff like the windmill's moving shadow !! I think if the position of certain shadows changed with the position of the sun would make it fit even better with the countdown theme (but for a game jam this is plenty good :D) I like the visual style too !! Great game :D
Thanks so much for playing!!
There is a slight change in the positions of the shadows but its nothing that completely changes how the level is navigated and in hindsight perhaps there was a better way to communicate that and make it more noticeable. I do feel like we could have done some more interesting things with the shadows, curtains with wind blowing them open and closed to make flickering shadows you have to time your movement through for example, and I definitely agree with there being room for more interesting shadow positioning as the sun rises!
We floated the idea of having the player backtrack through the level after The Count realises he forgot his keys at the mausoleum which could have created interesting level design opportunities as the shadows would have been significantly shorter and cut off certain paths, but perhaps that idea can be saved for something else! x)
Nice work! Had fun playing this!
Thanks for giving it a play!
Nice work! I would have loved the chance to lower mouse sensitivity but again, in four days you can only do what you can do xD!
Ah there is an option to change mouse sens in the pause menu, we should have been more clear! Thanks for the feedback.
Nice work!
