How does your game fit the theme?
30 Seconds has the core feature of a time limit before you die. You're given 30 seconds to explore as much as you can before you're brought back to the beginning of the game (with some items kept). A countdown to death if you will.

very good concept and level design is very good. I couldn't played minit(without looking youtube) because I couldn't do anything, find anything. But I adapted much more easily in this game because the map starts small but gets bigger more you play(eventhough it still guiding the player). I really like it!

You've done an excellent job capturing the retro aesthetics, from the precise and thrilling gameplay to the art style and music and sound effects. This game feels like an old-zelda with secrets and layers in it (I've never played void strangers but it feels like it a bit). Very very good

really arcadey, i love the vibes and gameplay.

really fun game to play - i really liked the bats as enemies and the style was very cool!

yoo really fun game i mananged to get in the end but i still have no idea what the jump pads, gotta play more to find out

Submitted(+1)

Fun little game! I was playing on a laptop so unfortunately could not dash... but still a good time!

Really fun idea, and was fun to play. Just got frustrated by trying to open some of the doors. I would be right up next to it and keep pressing the button but it would not open unless I was perfectly aligned.

that's so fun! i really like the gameplay. and art and music work is good too. all of this make such a nice retro-vibe

I found it really fun and had to finish it. The combination of picking the correct route and finishing it in time with the combat is really creative. I also like exchanging keys and lives for bombs and upgrades. Maybe I missed it, but I didn’t use the jump pads and still got to the stairway next to the three button puzzle (edit: found explanation in other comments). There is a small irritating bug when the player clips into walls under him and has to move only horizontally to get out.

Ive never noticed there were so many wall bugs. its somewhat frustrating as I can't find a way to reproduce them. Thanks for the feedback. It really helps me. Ill fix these walls somehow... eventually. (Edit: that stairwell wasnt supposed to be accessible but I misscalculated the gap by one tile. There was a boss you likely missed, but that's really it, thanks for playing!)

This was super fun to explore around in! I liked slowly getting more and more resources as I explored, and realizing I could reach more places too. Are the jump pad/arrow looking things something you are planning on adding later, or maybe I missed an item? Either way I really enjoyed it!

Developer (1 edit)

The arrow pads were a jump boost. It's fully programmed in, i just never got to adding the area where youd get the upgrade (it was gonna be in the 2nd floor im working on rn) thanks for playing and sending feedback!

Was fun! Fight mechanics, jumping, and movement felt clean. Music was nice as well.

Great vibe and direction with this game. The character did get stuck in walls a few times, I think when dashing near them. Great job on this!

Developer(+1)

I had no idea you could get stuck in walls, im gonna look into that. Thanks for the feedback!

Submitted(+1)

Yeah, I managed to do it a few times. I just couldn't move for a while. Once i was able to dash out, the other I let the timer run out. You did awesome on this though. I had a blast.

Developer(+1)

Do you remember where it was exactly you got stuck?

Submitted(+1)

Once was in the double fat bat room in the bottom right. The other was, if I remember correctly, taking the right locked door with the snakes that leads to the 4 slimes. I got stick (again) in the bottom right while jump dashing over that bottom pit area to get across.

Developer(+1)

Thank you, ill try and see if I can patch it in a future build (after voting's done)

Submitted(+1)

So do you have bigger plans for this? Cause it's good.

Developer(+1)

Yeah, I plan on adding more floors, enemies, puzzles, potentially getting to a steam release. I've been meaning to make a top down Zelda-inspired game for a while, this is definitely a project I see a lot of potential in.

Submitted(+1)

That's awesome, cause it's there! You got this! Cool thing is you are getting all this feedback as well to help you strengthen it.

movement felt nice, love the old gameboy atmosphere

Gameboy Zelda meets Minit - Amazing!  Sadly I couldnt get past the first few rooms because of a bug, would have loved to play the whole thing!

Developer

Do you think you could tell me what said bug was? Im sure i have an explanation for it

Submitted

in the room with the snakes i couldnt open the top left door/lock even though i had a key left

Developer

I just added a comment onto my submission. It's a bug I knew about, tried to fix, and couldn't. It's easy to bypass, just follow the comment's instructions.
