Bloons but with the ability to make Sasuke and Naruto do all the heavy lifting while I set up the Mega Garlic Gauntlet in the loop to wipe out those vampire bastards. Love it!
As a tower defense enjoyer, I wish it had more! It felt like I was playing bloons again lol
When it comes to unit variety, I felt some towers were kind of underwhelming, on the other hand, the wizard tower's effects were pretty cool.
I think ultimately the game is one that could really use a lot of polish. Hopefully by post jam you have all the time to add audio, fix some typos here and there, and maybe add some more interesting things that the tower can do upon upgrading, rather than just a stat boost of some sort. That would make the game very fun.
i love your game and how each tower has a different usecase. i tried 3 times to survive more than 10 waves but each time i get overrun
I am not a super fan of Tower Defence games but this one felt good :D
Game is missing a lot of UX elements such as sound cues for different acitions.
Not sure if it fits in to the theme of Gamejam, but it is fully playable game indeed!
Simple idea, but i had a lot of fun playing it. Some advice would be to implement some feedback when I'm buying a tower, and the ability to stack towers to upgrade them, and a drag-and-drop way of placing towers. Overall, i had a lot of fun
Felt a little simple with the idea. Might've been nice to see some unique elements from vampires instead of just theming, maybe a day night cycle kinda thing? Also the audio cut out quite early for me, not sure if this is a common issue or not.
Pretty good tower defense game for a jam. it is a little bit too easy. but still fun.
I went in debt mashing upgrade and lost which is probably a skill issue. Fun game tho
Fun game. There was a point where I reached 5000$ and filled everything of priests. They're so broken. However, I didn't understand the function of each character until I placed them on the field. Some of them have placeholder descriptions
Garlic with feet is an incredible design, always enjoy a good tower defense! I think the money scaling gets a bit insane late game, I had 100k and couldn't spend it all lol
Fun TD but would benefit from more variety: maps, enemies that subvert mechanics, and just a better difficulty ramping. Building a TD game is tough to balance though so I understand it’s tricky with this deadline. Fun submission to the Jam, so great job!
Most of the tower descriptions weren't populated, so I wasn't sure what each tower did at first.
I think sorting the tower list by price would make it easier to use. A tile-based placement system might also help, as I ended up stacking five towers in the same spot. I also found that pressing the start wave button multiple times sent me straight to the end screen.
Money became quite easy to earn, and once I had a tower with a large area of effect, it felt a bit too strong since the shots damaged everything they hit. 5 wizards in the ring and a garlic just outside it.
The art wasn't always consistent, but that's understandable with the time limits of a game jam.
Overall, something I would be proud of, Great Job!
The base of the game is solid, but it needs some more balancing and some polish.
Some small audio tips:
- after a minute or so the music went away, try looping it.
- Having audio sliders is great. Just make sure to use some exponential scaling to match our ears perception of volume. This let's the upper half of the slider fell more responsive and have more fine control
Pleasant experience. I definitely felt that using different units was worthwhile, which is a big plus. A little awkward is the fact that units can be stacked on the same spot; I feel it would be more elegant to place the units on a grid. It would also be useful to have information about where the wave is coming from. Music was very quite for me.
Overall, a good experience!
More SFX would make the game better but many UI panels on the towers displays placeholder texts instead of the actual tower names and description. Still a fun tower defense tho.
