The hourglass sand is the countdown giving the player a limited amount of time to escape the hourglass and the timer countdown speeds up each time certain abilities are used making countdown quicker.

Really cool game. Very large scope for a game jam. I wish the 3rd person camera was a touch more zoomed out.
We did have an FOV slider but it was a lil buggy w the saves so apolagies ab that but we have fixed it and plan on updating after game jam ends. And yh I realised our scope was too big on the 3rd day thus why 3rd island is kinda bunz 😅. But happy that you gave the game a go means a lot!

it's a pretty cool take on the only up genre. I like that it's not nonsensical and remain whimsy. I couldn't really go super high because I have an AZERTY keyboard, but it's a fun experience.
Yeah sorry about that. Sadly due to the time restrictions we could only come up with a basic settings menu but if we were to continue we would add the ability to let the player remap the key binds for better accessibility but we are glad to hear you enjoyed the game as it means a lot to us!
It's always nice to see some 3d platformer in a Jam.
I couldn't play for very long tho because the game made my pc seriously heat, but I got to try every power up I think ? At least all of the ones that are shown in the controls at the bottom left.

Yeah apologies about the issue with optimisation. Due to time we couldn't optimise some areas so that's on us but I am glad you gave our game a go it means a lot!
This one was really fun, super chill 3d platformer with an immediately cool vibe and visual identity, platforming mechanics were solid and struck a good balance of being challenging without being frustrating. Definitely give this one a try.
