I think your game is very cool, criminally underrated and for a solo dev, it's very impressive ! I think it's a mix between doom (the og) and vampire survivors so I'll compare your game to them, but I do understand that you worked alone for 4 days ; I gave your game a high grade, it's more if you want to keep working on your game :)

In doom, the best part of the game is not really the combat, it's the freedom of movement and how fast paced you move. the level design is also a big part of the appeal (not the button pressing however, but the verticality) so having obstacles would have complemented the shooting a lot :)

In vampire survivor, a lot of the fun is from the "high risk/reward" that comes from collecting xp. It probably would have be better to have the enemy drop the token; or some reward to make risk taking more appealing. As it stands, its a really cool game with avenue to improves.

I saw that you wanted to add a tutorial, but I don't think it's needed. I do agree that it is sometime confusing, so here's something you can do to make it less confusing :

- for the eye, I didn't understand as well what they did. Adding a clock to their sprite, with arms that rotate fast around the center of the eye, would probably be very effective way to tell the player what the eyes are doing.

- for the shop, give the player a few seconds at the end of the wave with something like "wave defeated, opening shop in 3... 2... 1..."

This is a very good game ! I really like vampire survivors like. The boss completely caught me off guard, it was a really nice change of pace !

Thank you very much ! if you like the visual, be sure to give the artist a follow on IG, he really deserves it :)

Yeah, for the music, it was my first web export with Godot, and for web build only, there's a bug where the game uses the resource setting and not the engine. Sucks but that's life.

Thank you very much ! We're already working on a more complete version of the game, I'll send you a message if you wanna play test it =)

Thank you very much! I see, thank you for your suggestion. Maybe stronger enemy would force you to defend more often and cut short the winding ? it's interesting feedback, thank you !

I really like your game, it's very creative ! the audio is super soothing ! Wish you didn't had your finals because with a little bit of polish, this game would rock !

that is very funny ! Wish there was a bit more variety considering you're a solo dev, it's a bit much to ask !

haha thanks, without a heal, that you managed to kill the boss is very impressive ! was the button hidden on your screen ? I can probably address this to make sure it doesn't happen again :)
I'll make sure the player can't be killed after the boss is defeated. currently it stop every gameObject's process but there's room for improvement :)

Thank you very much =)

Really good game !

I liked your game, it's really creative and fun ! I did find everything a bit confusing (I realise late that I find recipe in the books, or that I could sleep more than one hour) I think I found the cure but I'm not sure which ending I got. One thing that was really annoying is that if I ran out of energy while making chemistry and went to sleep, the ingredients would disappear instead of return to the bench. overall a very good submission.

Thank you very much ! Yeah I had a lot of fun making the boss and finding ways to throw people off =) The music stopping is because of a Godot bug for web build, for some reason, the resource setting override the engine setting. I fixed it now but I can't upload it because of the rules ! grr

Cool game ! I really like it

Thank you very much ! Yeah, this was on the to do list but not high enough :/ we're gonna keep working on the project, so we'll take your feedback to heart !

Thank you ! lmao yeah I see what you mean, it's difficult to balance things properly with such a short deadline.

This is really cool, the art is beautiful (in its own way, Adam was horrifying lmao) but the fight against Adam is a bit unfair. the way the bomb drops is difficult to avoid (I realised that when bombs starts to appear, one is bomb to appear on top of me so I need to run but having them fall faster would have probably helped me realise that sooner) and the laser is very hard to dodge (maybe it's a hitbox issue ?). I also wished we could see how much money we made, just as a little treat :)

Thank you very much, I'm happy you enjoyed the game :)

Took me embarrassingly long to realise that I could slot the coins in the box with the nixie clock (nice touch, where do you find such call booth, for.. no particular purpose). I think it would help people with disability or shitty mouse that you could have an option to just click on a object to hold it (calling the number was hell for me) :)

great game ! easy 5 star

Thank you for your feedback, it's very valuable.
Like you've guessed, this isn't how the game is supposed to be play, basically, the longer you wait before pressing space, the more powerful your action is, and if you press space while the clock is on the green, you get a bonus to your damage or heal. The clock is just a tool to help the player find a rhythm, so the boss breaks it because he's evil!

Your comment really highlight that we need to make it more obvious how the game is intended be played, but we didn't have time to make a tutorial level despite wanting to; that's why the "how to play" section is so long and not great.

Thank you for your kind word, we're working on upgrading the game, for example, clicking now also make the countdown work.

it's a really fun and silly idea that is well executed !

Only 8 review ? that's criminal.

I love the art style and the gameplay loop ! I didn't understood what the countdown did, and I had a few freezes, but it's a very good entry, and it's very unique (I think it's the first car based game I've played, which is strange because you'd think there would be hundreds of uber driver simulator).

That is a very good game, the combat is engaging, the defence system is very cool ! I couldn't beat it because I suck, but I had a lot of fun !

The art is awesome, and the concept is very good, it makes you think about the level layout and the order with which to choose slugs in order to have them all arrive at the boat. Kinda like the moon base dlc for Prey. I think I encountered a bug that made my character go left for .1s randomly, but it wasn't too bothering.

This is a very good idea, I like the agency we are given and your game is very creative ! I just don't understand how each colour affect the survival of ours village, maybe a clearer end game title card would have help !

The top down beat em up style is very good, I like the pixel art of your game a lot. I immediately though of Hotline Miami when I saw the level design.

I think the level is a bit too big, you spend a bit of time looking for the last enemy, which is surely the point, but it's not really tense, just annoying. and yeah, like gammamuse said, a bit more juice. But it's a very good game, especially since we had a short deadline (it's feedback if you want to keep working on this game)!

Your game is really interesting, I think you deserve more comments and rating. It's very creative and enjoyable, I was kinda bummed out to beat the game ! the various "oups" dialog is really funny. This could be a really good incremental game with a bit of rebalance (large tanks are op) :)

Thank you for your feedback ! I agree, I'll keep working on this project to make it more interesting on that regard ! i;e. knight will have armor values that make the charged attack less effective against them =)

It's a very ambitious submission ! the different biomes and upgrade to collect all around the maps where pretty cool  ! However, for a metroidvania, I think that the control were a bit too floaty. Compared to Silksong, it felt very difficult to pull a downward kick or do precise platforming. But I do keep in mind that you did it in 0.1% of the time Team Chery did Silksong, your game is impressive.

Damn your game is good ! the variety in the countdown and the sound are especially top notch ! somehow, level 5 really f- me up, I couldn't get past it, but I think that's a skill issue on my part :p

(1 edit)

Thank you ! Yeah, it's a Godot bug that uses the file's parameters instead of the editor for web build ! It's fixed but I can't upload it until the end of the jam =)

Thank you very much !

Your game has a very strong art and you can be proud of that ! But I think that the game feels clunky, the physics based wipe is really cool but it's difficult to aim it, especially if the enemy is not in front of the player char (but on the bottom right).

I think you could have leaned more in the incremental aspect of the game by replacing the town with a simpler upgrade tree, but I respect the choice you made !

It's pretty fun ! simple yet efficient =)

Very fun game ! The countdown variation are very nice and keeps you guessing ! I think the banker is a bit too difficult for ol' me :D

I like your game a lot, it's prob one of the best I've played so far ! I just wished there was an option to "quickload" from when you start walking with Lilly. I also feel bad for the gym guy :/

the art is amazing, it's very cute!

I'll just quote a famous ytber "Some men drown while others die of thirst"

Thank you very much !! Yeah, we had so much more idea we wanted to put in the game but oh so little time !! But yeah I really want to expand on this game.

On my end, I can see your submission normally =) I'll check it out ;)

Rythm Heaven sisters and brothers of the world, UNIT !

I'm very happy you liked our game, thank you for your kind word ! Yeah I f-edup with the balancing.
yes, as it turns out, it's a Godot bug for web build, the parameter of the imported music override the parameter I set up in the engine. It looped fine when I tested it in Godot and I didn't though about testing if the music looped correctly in browser. Ah well, live and learn, I've fixed it but I can't upload it !
I think we will, there are a lot of avenue for upgrade but it has the potential to be a fun little game :)

Thank you  ! Next update, we'll had a volume slider !

it's a pretty cool take on the only up genre. I like that it's not nonsensical and remain whimsy. I couldn't really go super high because I have an AZERTY keyboard, but it's a fun experience.

it's a countdown to the instruction ! Genius.
it's a really fun idea, well done !
