How does your game fit the theme?
The enigmatic Count Down hath dispatched his solemn summonings unto thee, inviting thy presence within the gloom of his ancestral mansion. Yet beware; bare not thy neck unto his devilish whim, for he commands a malevolent vampiric mastery—a fell will that hath consumed the wretched undead beasts that stalk his halls. Thou art given only six rounds to slay the foul beasts, and thou can only watch in horror as the six turn into five, then four, then three...

I like the unique reload mechanic and the art style. It's quite short but atmospheric experience.

thanks for playing!

I think this all worked very well! The artstyle was cool, the shooting/reload mechanic was interesting and worked well, and the narrative was short but interesting! I only wish it had a bit more to it, but this is already impressive for the game jam!

Developer

thank you, i was very constrained by time otherwise i would've loved to add some more depth to the reloading mechanic and extra lore/a special gameplay mechanic at death.

Loved the art style. Well audio designed too. Enjoyed the vibe and underlying narrative. Unique countdown implementation with the reload! Overall very impressive, well done!

Developer

I love the atmosphere (the first demon really jumpscared me!) but I can't figure out how to load my gun. Hitting Reload doesn't seem to do anything, and I'm just firing blanks. I almost got both keys in the first room without firing a shot, but got caught every time. Let me know what I'm missing and I'll play some more!

EDIT: Nevermind, now I see on the game page! I'll try it again!

EDIT2: Missed all my shots and won without killing either of them. XD I'll take it!

Developer

that's actually hilarious ahahahha i'm glad you were able to figure it out and thanks for letting me know!!

Love the spooky artstyle and setting of this game. A stressful and enjoyable concept with the tight ammo supply and tough monsters. Had to sneak my way around after I ran out of bullets lmao. Solid game! I hope to see more of it someday perhaps.

thank you! fyi it's actually not possible to kill both of the monsters, you can only kill one and that's only if you shoot him 4 times. still not sure if that was the best course of action but it just wasn't fun to move around the map without the stress of dealing with the monsters

The moment I realised I had to manually load bullets into my gun as the demon was chasing me was a blast xD Can only say I wish there was more!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

thank you so much! that was the idea that started the whole thing; the fact that you have to manually put effort into reloading while also managing the enemies and the stamina. i appreciate your kind words :)

Developer
