the setting is really interesting and i loved the art direction, but i'm afraid to say that the game ran very badly on my device (10 fps maximum) and i couldn't complete it. i have an intel iris igpu, which isn't high end by any means, but can very easily run lots of more graphically intensive games.
لكن اللعبة تصميمها رائع و اتمنى اني اقدر العبها بشكل احسن بالمستقبل, بالتوفيق
WOW. this felt more like an interactive media project than a game made for a 4-day game jam and i mean that in the best way possible. it felt like a short film i'd see in a film festival and discuss with someone else afterwards. usually, i value a bigger focus on gameplay in games, but with the kind of story this game tries to tell, i can definitely see why you went with the narrative/interactive media approach.
with that said, i did feel that the microwave section dragged on for too long, even with the fun minigame on the side (though i have to admit the music was fire). if i could add one note, i would have liked to see more diversity in the inputs required to finish the sequences; more things like the Door OS sequence requiring you to use the mouse to drag and drop folders instead of all sequences requiring a simple button input. but i do understand if that couldn't have been achieved due to the time constraints (especially because you also made a trailer?????? wow)
also as someone who loves these kinds of visual effects/shaders i'd love to ask how you were able to achieve such a pixelated look for the game. overall really really well done and i truly wish you all the best!!
the style alone is enough for you guys to win some kind of award, well done!! i wasn't sure what was going on most of the time; if there was or wasn't some kind of win condition or point of pressing the numbers beyond the sake of playing the game. but i loved it either way, and i can definitely see the vision :)
i love the idea of the game and the CRT style UI, it pairs really well and gets the idea across as soon as you boot the game up! i did run into a screen resolution issue where no matter what i did (fullscreen, windowed, adjusting the borders when windowed) the screen would always be cut off, so i wasn't able to view the right and bottom of the screen and didn't really know what was going on. looking at the screenshots though, i can tell that the writing in the game is amazing and that it would be a really fun experience to play it without the bug. pretty cool idea and well done :)
i relate to the bugs lmao. i think from what i've seen from most good horror or horror-ish gamss made for game jams is the focus on a single mechanic or setting and refining it to the point of perfection, because there's not enough time to do much else. your game definitely does that and i'll have to take a page from it next time i think of making a horror game because there were just too many things going on to focus on the experience itself (i really hate level design man)
