How does your game fit the theme?
There is a continuous count down either to night or day dictating the phase of the game. In the day, you can place down defenses for the night, while in the night, you mostly must rely on villagers using your defenses in addition to using some powers.

fun game!! very replayable and the core gameplay loop works really well
I wish there was a tutorial, but very fun gameplay loop when you figure it out.
Interesting that so many other comments are saying this is too easy. Both times I died on day 3 with what felt like little to no recourse. The guns I equipped my villagers with the first run seemed like they always missed, and the walls and jail I invested in the second run didn't matter when the enemies ran so much faster than my allies did to the rally point (and when there were 2-3 of the speedy warlock-looking enemies and I could only lock one down). I'm not sure if I just got back luck or what, but it felt insurmountable - like Rally didn't get my humans to the areas where they could defend themselves quickly enough. I think the day/night cycle and abilities is a really cool concept for a game so I'm a little sad I didn't get the experience everyone else did.
I'm sorry about that! I will note that guns (like many other weapons) don't work against all the monsters, so if there were vampires they might have been immune to the bullets (garlic and stakes work there instead). I'll have to see if I can add a range of difficulties then to help in these cases (plus a tutorial like some other people mentioned). Thank you for playing, though!
pretty cool game! i wish i had more resources during my game! but really fun!
It is definitely a fun and infinitely repayable game! With all the items you can spawn each doing different things and being able to keep it per night made fun gameplay.
I thought the sound effects and music were really well done. Honestly, I was confused about some of the card effects, the daytime ones specifically. Even so, I had fun getting to decently high scores.
Thank you for playing! If it helps, the daytime cards are used to play defenses that will be used by your villagers to arm themselves in the night. Like, they don't do anything by themselves and rely on arming villagers with stuff like stakes and guns, which is why you get the rally ability at night to send villagers to some that you think are more important.
Ah, yeah, I think there's a weird timing issue since there is one script for spawning new villagers, and another that handles the game over conditions, and sometimes the spawner happens beforehand. I'll probably have to add some way to link the two to prevent that (currently there is a 0.1 second delay on spawning villagers meant to stop that, but I guess that doesn't always fix it).
This was super cool. I'm a big fan of day/night cycles in games. Some guidance over what makes a choice meaningful or not would be good but i did like the openness of the game. I could see playing this for a while, especially with lots of different options for defense to place. It might be interesting to play around with managing the building placements yourself prior to gameplay. Great job and great game!
Fun game, I had a great time playing it. Was difficult to get the hang of but I ended up getting to day 17 on one of my tries.
I love the idea, I'm not sure how you're intending for everyone to play. I managed to get in a holding patterns past day 20 where I was getting the +5 plus villagers every morning card offered repeatedly and so I took it repeatedly. I think the game forced a game over once I hit 100 villagers
There wasn't quite any sort of intended playstyle. My own playstyle was trying to scatter my defenses around slowly so any monsters would usually be within range of a correctly armed villager before they killed too many humans.
There isn't a set limit to the number of villagers or forces game over from that, so that might just be a bug. I'll probably have to make a bigger trade-off for those cards so you can't survive forever like that. That one is meant to be repeatable though, sorta as a reward after surviving so long, though I would have expected someone to choose the Reset option at some point.
Thank you for giving it a shot!
Cool game, i have to confess that i got confused about what to do and how to do it but in the end i got the idea.
I cool thing to add could be a way to make villagers stay or go to one point (Like placing a flag where villagers stay camping or something like that) because a lot of them die in the first day or they where too far from the weapons.
Anyway cool game i liked it.
I like the idea, its pretty fun watching your guys fight. But I didn't really understand what is the proper strategy to play and plcae defences, I keep loosing after a couple of days, maybe I didn't completely understand the game mechanics? Like what is the point of placing a block, how does that help.
Either way, congratulations on finishing the game, its pretty good, nicely done :)
So, it is definitely a bit difficult to make the right defenses. As the cards will say when you choose them, some are meant to combat certain monsters (stakes/garlic for vampires, guns/rifles for werewolves, zombies, and goo monsters, altars for demons, and bombs for everything). The blocks can be used to seal off certain paths, so you could seal people into homes or try to only let people into certain areas. They will take a few days to make larger structures, but they can eventually work as walls for areas.
Thanks for playing!
Nice game. One request, maybe allow players to end a phase early if nothing left to do? Very nice dual front game!
That's pretty cool. I like the idea of a defense-like game where you have little minions that you have to help out to achieve the goal rather than being directly hands on with it. Well done!
The little day and night cycle lighting effects were pretty sweet, too. Only things I'd suggest is maybe (unless I missed it?) a way to fast-forward to night time when you are "ready" rather than having to wait, and maybe some less cheery music to match the frantic mood.
Well done!
Realy nice concept! Well done!
I had so much fun using fire bolt, and jails. The environement realy does feel responsive, qith broken wall and all.
Great work!
