Was so much fun playing this game. First run, I was in front of death with 9 queens, and she ate my king. RIP. Honestly, this game could really be expanded into a full release. Hope you guys keep cooking on this.I have been working on a chess game with Balatro elements, and your take is really solid. Can wait to play it more to see more of it, i am amaze with the  depth of this 4 days game. Congrats to the team!!!

i can't stop walking up to death and jumpscaring him with 23 pawns immediately sending him into anaphylactic shock. cascade might be the most broken card i've seen in anything ever, and i can't stop playing it. i can't stop imagining this happening in the seventh seal. i love this so much

This game is impressive, really want to see the complete version with more features, this has the feeling of a complete game already

The buildcrafting in this game is super fun, i ended up commanding hordes of pawns

this might be my favorite game of the jam, insanely impressive stuff!!
absolutely phenomenal work here, such a fun concept executed perfectly.

managed to beat it with a pawn-focused deck utilizing the stampede and cascade cards

Such a well polished and complete experience all done during the jam!

Absolute masterpiece, you took chess and gave it the “Balatro” treatment. The amount of depth in this game is wild. Truly spectacular. This isnt just a game submission this is a full on game ready to ship to steam as is! Incredible work team!

Such a glorious game in only 4 days. Easiest 5/5 in all categories so far

Absolutely phenomenal! My favourite game so far, real contender for the top 20! Only problem is it wouldn't let me play the London system...

Submitted

i think its no 1

Honestly I agree, I've come back to it already and will definitely come back to finish it after the jam!

"Just resign" haha!

Phenomenal game!! It'd already be super impressive if the three of you hadn't made it in four days, but you did! :D

This is AMAZING!!!

The visuals and sound effects are top notch. Creating this much depth to a rougelike game in only a few days is super impressive! My only complaint is that there was no En Passant for the pawns lol

Very fun rogue like! I enjoyed turning my pawns into an army of knights then running over the enemy. I think this game jam convinced me to play more roguelikes haha

Absolutaly crazy that you made such a rogue like in 4 days! But I feel like I've seen a concept like this somewhere already.. Either way still cool!

Absolutely insane to make a full-fledged Slay The Spire like Chess roguelike in 4 days!

This is one of my least favorite genres and I still locked in immediately after launching it. Made me understand the appeal, i think you've hit on a REALLY cool idea here!

I really like the idea here and having to both focus on progressing your board but staying within the timer is a good combo. I definitely felt that the game was a bit too heavy on the randomness though, as most of the cards move things randomly and the card game aspect makes the options available very random. Combine this with how expensive moving a piece purposefully is and it felt like the outcome of my run was mostly out of my hand. That said, the core idea of expanding your deck and the pieces available is a really solid base. Nice job!

I think pawns might be a bit overpowered... :O

One for all the STS-heads out there, really good. Quite satisfying when you realise that situations that would be unwinnable in normal chess are actually still possible

Submitted

I’m going to play until I beat the whole thing! I’ll leave a comment when I finish (every time I lose, I start over).

it was very cool !!!!!!  i win the boss
