Great game! Has a lot of content to it and between the upgrades and allies there can be a lot of customization added in
crazy amount of content, very fun to watch a streamer go through it iykyk :P
impressive stuff fr tho, i think you could make background a teal color so that the blue droplet ally can stop blending in, very adorable characters and very impressive systems made in such a small amount of time, your 10+ years of experience are to be taught my friend :)
really cool game, has likely a roguelite, timeout you restart with upgrade, really enjoy it, and so damn good the sacrifice idea when you die!
Nice concept, the gameplay feels great too. I like how you get better each round, this way a good player might be able to win earlier, otherwise you can just play until you have enough upgrades.
Quite enjoyed your entry, simple but enjoyable. My favourite enemy is the ghost, it looks so angry yet sad x)
Got attached to the trio and was sad the first time I had to decide who to sacrifice haha. Then when I noticed you got all their power but stronger, I felt less bad.
I like the fact that you loose stats as you progress which makes it another count down. Could not see the end of it after spending half an hour on it unfortunately, the meta progression is too steep for a jam game I feel. Gotta give some times to other games ;)
Great job anyway, you got a new follower!
Thanks for playing.
I know it is not balanced but being the first time I used upgrading system, I did not know what tools to use for balancing. Then, I thought that nobody would really make more than one or two runs so I left the game like that. But glad to see I was wrong. There are 10 levels, I think I should have just reduce to 6 or 7 max as a quick win.
Really liked the narrative part of the game, art is also quite unique (i especially liked the detail that player color depends on first two sacrifices and boss-flower model is really cool). music gets annoying with time. Stumbled upon sume bugs:
1) you can exit a non-boss level with one enemy remaining, although it is hard to pull off.
2) one time it said that 7 enemies remaining but there was nobody there so i couldn't progress, and another time it said 0 enemies remaining and they were spawning frozen in place (see photo), and even when i destroyed every one of them, passage to next level did not open.
P.S. trust me, it is so worth it to sacrifice your allies, especially when you can shoot fireballs and growing wirlpools afterwards
Are and music/sound are not my best. For the sound, first time to add in a game. I learned during the jam so ended up only with a 30s loop for the run and 30s loop for the start scene.
1) Yes, that was voluntarily to not change the whole counting logic of the rest of the game 3h before the end of the game jam. Cannot live for real game but was acceptable for a game jam, mostly because it only profit the player.
2) Damn, I thought I fixed the bug. I made several runs to check if it still happen without encountering it but they may still happening in some cases. Thanks reporting it, I really need to change the logic on it.
PS: glad someone understood the trick. ;)
Good work! I like the art style. It'd be cool with more types of enemies! I'd love to see what you do with this in the future. If you have time, check out my game!
I like the storytelling and overall love anything with upgrades and numbers so i enjoyed it.
Good concept and I like the little narrative parts between levels. Visuals and music could have a bit more polish but ohterwise, great!
Really neat idea only complaint is the audio is not balanced well, this has potential otherwise!
First time adding audio in one of my games so I learned (mostly with failures) during the jam. Thanks for playing the game.
Keep at it! I'd love to see a mode developed version of the concept you have here.
Nice job, getting the "stores" up and running must have been difficult but it was really consistent and I found no bugs. Way to go!
For this jam, not really I went the quick way but I know it would not hold in a real project with tens of modifiers. Thanks for playing the game.
Strong roguelite idea, had a lot of fun with this one. Audio is very well done too makes the combat quite engaging
Could use some work, but love seeing the effort here
Fun little game! Feel like I was in adventure time lol. Got a surprising amount of depth to it as well. Nice job!
Thanks, I mostly work on the technical mechanics, less on arts, music and real level design.
Thanks for the review and play.
