Its very interesting game! look very good too. good job!
I really like the controls — I think they’re really original.
The music fits the chicken theme perfectly.
Unfortunately, I didn’t quite understand how to drop the feathers for the countdown.
Really loved this! Had a lot of trouble catching the damned chicken, but I think that's a skill issue.
S-Tier song with S-Tier lyrics. Exceptional jam entry :)
Thanks for playing our game earlier. Love the art in yours, and done a bunch of QWOP-controlled-likes myself so this was fun. As others mentioned could not figured out the stuffing - all on video:
Thanks for playing our game and your feedback! We just watched your video and are seeing that the frustration you've had seems to be common, especially in this first level with the mattress - the hitbox for the feather stuffing doesn't go deep enough from what we've seen, and if you go too deep in to let go it doesn't count, which is unfortunate. As for the 200 limit, if you get three feathers correctly in the mattress, the tutorial bird (Kevin) will pop up and complain that it will take forever, then taking you to the progression menu. Thanks for the video and feedback, it really helps us to see how people are interacting with our game and gives us a strong foundation for updating after the jam. We appreciate it! :D
I love the motion-based plucking, it feels and looks very satisfying, and terrible morally at the same time.
I love the song, I'm glad you put the lyrics too. I didn't realize the hitbox for dropping feathers until I read the description haha. It was fun to get used to the weird controls, I found that if I managed to keep my fingers pinched just enough so they were close to together, I could more easily grab the chickens and it felt better to time.
Best song in the jam for sure. I was a little confused for a while if I was properly putting the feathers in, but other than that I enjoyed the game quite a bit!
Haha thank you for your kind words! If you made it past the tutorial, chances are you did! If not and you're willing to try again, someone posted a nice guidance for where to actually drop the feathers to make them go into the item further below in the comment section. The sound should change when you drop them and get it right! This seems to be the common issue though, so i completely get it. Either way, thank you so much for playing :D
Very funny game. loved the music as well
Really creative but the gameplay loop really did not pull me in, but the game looks absolutely splendid! Sorta reminds me of those nintendo or sakurai animations.
Thank you for your feedback and nice words! I can totally see why the loop didn't pull you in, and in all honesty we struggled a bit with coming up with a goal, loop etc. We just had this idea of a comedic game about plucking down and filling something with it, and I like to think that this would work better in a wario ware style game, or where it's only a minigame as part of a bigger game.
Yeah you hit the nail on the head: its funny, its stylish and as a wario ware game it would be one of the greats. But still really solid game you guys should be proud!
Probably one of the most creative interpretations of this theme I've seen! Such a goofy vibe, and the song fit amazingly.
I did feel quite confused while playing since there's not much indication that the bag is getting filled (which is kinda the point, oops), but I got the hang of if eventually.
Great job!
Thank you for playing our game! We're glad you enjoyed it! We wanted to do something different, and bounced around from different ideas (carrying a vampire down some stairs, a vampire who was sad and you had to cheer him up, etc.) but then settled on this one. We also wanted to make something just silly and fun so when people find the game goofy it feels like we hit that target! Thanks for your feedback :D
Really creative! Super fun game, I struggled at first with the feathers but that´s totally on me lol. The art is lovely and the hand-grab mechanic is great. Very good job!!
Thanks for playing our game! I'm so glad you enjoyed the hand-grab, we had a lot of fun making it and getting it to feel right. We're thinking of releasing an update after the voting period that fixes some of the frustrations we've heard about the feathers, so it's not completely on you haha, there's some wonkiness beyond the wonkiness we intended. Thanks again for your play and feedback!
This game is very aesthetic and such a wild idea to create.
Since some other players and I had trouble figuring out the right stuffing height, I tried to make a small comparison to see at what point it starts counting as stuffed. You can put it halfway or almost completely in, but if you go too low, you only get the sound feedback without the visual feedback of feathers flying around. I’d recommend aiming around the shown height.
While figuring this out, this fantastic and funny song really got stuck in my head. Overall, the art style is beautiful and the mechanics feel really satisfying to play with. It’s quite challenging, but still a lot of fun. Great job! :)
Thank you for taking your time to do this! I can see how the first picture feels like it should go in as well, so we definitely have to work on that hitbox and giving the player a more fitting response to signify whether you got it or not, especially where the feathers don't show up if you go too low. Glad to hear you enjoyed it!
Holy, is hard!!! Chicken Souls? :D
I'm super bad at Bennett-Foddy-Like Games haha
...but I enjoyed my time. The art is simple, but adorable. Oh yeah, poor chicken :(
Good job! <3
Thanks for playing!! Haha i like the idea of this being chicken souls. Also don't worry, Kevin and all of his friends are safe and okay :D
great game i love the concept of the game the only gripe i have with it is that the I cant fast forward through the tutorial (as far as I'm aware)
That makes sense! We wanted to make the tutorial more interactable and rely on the speed of the player, but unfortunately ran out of time. Once you have reached the menu and played a bit more though, your exp progress will save and you'll no longer have to suffer through the tutorial :D Thank you a lot for your feedback, glad you enjoyed!
The mechanic is novel and I love progression. Would have loved to see the fingers close a bti faster but that's just me. AWesome!
That's a fair critique! I wasn't sure how fast to make them close, but i settled on this for added annoyance honestly :P If we end up working a bit on this later, we might add options for movement speed of both fingers, wrist and hand. Thank you for playing, glad you ended up reaching some sort of progression!
I quite like the game, but like many got stuck on the first screen. From other responses it seems like some button will appear after long enough, or something to get to the next screen. I didn't reach it, because counting to 200 when 6-9 feathers appear takes very long when there is zero feedback you are getting anywhere. I did review me playing the game, and I hope you find it insightful.
Thanks for playing our game and the feedback! The video actually helped us see exactly what was going on as well as likely with others - the hitbox for where you put the feathers seems to be a bit small based on feedback. There's a different sound effect for when you drop them and feather particles appear (which doesn't count as a 'stuff') and when you manage to correctly place the feathers inside the object. From your video, it seems like you didn't get enough 'correctly' placed to trigger the next part of the game - three feathers will trigger the button to appear.
If you see the feathers drop, it's not placed properly and makes a more of a "fwoosh" sound. From the video, it seems you're going a bit too low into the item, this is something we're going to fix after the jam voting period. The target area is RIGHT at the opening of the item, as well as slightly below it. We've seen multiple people go too far inside the item or drop too high above.
Thank you for your review and rating! We really appreciate it and it makes us happy to see people enjoying, despite the hitbox placement choices causing some trouble!
Really like the cozy music and trippy gameplay. In the web browser version my mouse kept wandering outside of the game making things more difficult than needed to be. Would be cool if there was some kind of visual progress tracker for how much stuff has been stuffed. Like the art style too. Makes me wish I had some wizard herbs.
Yeah, we wanted part of the challenge and design to be that the player keeps track in their own head, while the visual change of the item's image gives a rough estimate of how much the item is filled, both to keep in line with the theme and to give the game a bit of a challenge while the chaos reigns in the background haha! We agree about the mouse controls escaping the viewport, it annoys us too. The fullscreen button (the one with the four arrows, since the other one doesn't preserve aspect ration as well) helps with that though! Thank you for playing and for your feedback!
i like the hand animations very much bro!
i have no idea how you did that but it cool and relaxing in a way(the hand anim).
great job man!
Thank you for playing our game! The animation was done using the program Spine (and modelled after my own hand so I used my own hand for pose references haha) using rigging and different layers for each moving part of the hand :) A lot of work to set up but definitely allows for fun fine tuning and results like you see here! Thanks for your kind words!
This is called passion!
i like it, keep going man.
Had to play on phone with half the controls but I still managed to pluck a full chicken waiting for the good timing ! The music is truly great and the premise original, congrats !
Thanks for playing our game! Glad you were still able to get some of the experience even if you couldn't interact with the things that required WASD haha! (My strategy when playtesting also involved waiting for them to come to me just as much as chasing them :P) We appreciate your kind words!
Funny game
Thanks for playing!
