This was a lot of fun and the start to a really solid game! I like the art. It would be nice to see a total of the enemies' health as well as your own so you don't have to count the dots, but I do really like the style for displaying HP here. You've managed to include a lot here, glad to see the deck composition can be viewed.
Cool game! Really enjoyed the strategic choices this game makes you consider. The card designs and the feeling of slowly running out of options created a really nice tension, reminded me of incryption, and I loved the arcade vibe. Great work!
card mechanics are fun, and I really liked the strategy involved. UI is clean, and card designs look great. music also creates a nostalgic vibe. Great job!
There is some nostalgia being triggered by this, good job!
I like the minimal approach, though I feel you could have gone even further - I almost never paid attention to the data in the top right, the “crystal balls” on the top and side were all the info I needed!
Besides a bug where I could not click on cards on the lower right of the screen (maybe an issue because I am playing on Linux?), I had lots of fun, but I still couldn’t complete a run!
Really well done!
Hey thanks a lot for playing and for the feedback. I could say that for me the nostalgia factor is in the "paying life" sound, I've always liked the megaman's life bar sound, so maybe I've got inspire by it.
I want to re-work the art and continue polishing the gameplay and gamefeel. I'm working on an update to post once the jam is over. I'll be sure of make a Linux build as well :)
IDK if this is just me but it doesn't seem like the enemies ever attack? The idea is really neat, and the cards look really nice, but it seems pretty buggy
This game was really fun, with a very interesting concept... I can definitely see this being fleshed out into a bigger game. I did run into a few bugs though, like seemingly useless upgrades that would make a card "cheaper" but it would keep the same price.
Overall this was a very good game and I would honestly hope to see it fleshed out more in the future!
