We really liked the rouge-like elements. The efficency level that my shots had to be gave me a bunch of dopamine because i kept getting 3 or 4 enemys in single shots. Good job. :)
I really like this idea! the combat feels great, the roguelike elements are super cool, I like the choice of when to place the bullets, and it's really hard but feels well-balanced!
Heya, thanks for playing! Glad you enjoyed!
really fun game and everything about the combat feels really good and has that juice to it. I did have a problem in gameplay that when I ran out of bullets and the shop button at the bottom right popped up, when i entered the shop I would always come out back at wave 1. is this an issue on my end?
No, that's intentional. The idea is to upgrade your bullets so you can survive all 6 waves at once. Perhaps I should've made it clearer
Cool concept. I got some bug where the money was in the middle of the screen but game was fun. The juice is there!
Thanks for playing. That's a strange bug. The shaking might have messed something up
I completed the game without sliding once, I didn't know you could kill enemies with that. It took ages, but I made it! :D
That... is very impressive. I haven't even done that. Incredible job. And thanks for playing!
I can see the concept and I know this is the sort of game that is going to grab many people instantly. The puzzle of lining up the shots to get the most out of the bullets and things is going to be some people's favourite type of game.
Unfortunately it doesn't work well on a laptop with a trackpad so I was unable to really enjoy it, however I see the idea and I appreciate it for the game it should be if it weren't for my limited hardware.
I appreciate you attempting it with the trackpad. I'll make a note to myself to add a trackpad-friendly version in future haha
This game had me HOOKED. This is easily the longest I have spent playing a single game, after all its not easy.
The art isn't bad at all and the music complimented the game fantastically. I had tons of fun trying to decide when to use a bullet.
I did encounter an issue where I would start a round missing a bullet or two, but that's about my only complaint. I wish there were more special bullets to try as they make the game 10x as fun. wonderful job I will come back to play this one more later!
I would play a finished version of this with more bullet types.
Also if you want feel free to try my game, its also a bullethell shooter.
Thanks for playing! So great to hear you enjoyed it. More bullet types are definitely something I want to do, but I stopped myself within the limits of the jam, at least. I'll have to check yours out at some point!
Very very fun game. Like other have said, the feel of the game is great. Great music and story. I was already intrigued with the beginning lines that give context to what is going on and the main mechanic of the game, survive six rounds with six bullets, great work!
Thanks for playing! The beginning lines were a last minute addition but I'm glad I added them
Very fun game, maybe add a cooldown on the slide but in overall great game, keep it up !
Heya, thanks for playing! A cooldown is a good idea. The sliding is definitely a little OP
It's a very fun game! Good job with the feel of the game, animations and effects look amazing
Thanks for the comment! I'm glad you liked it. I spent more time than I care to admit just doing effects and stuff so glad it worked out
Very fun game and the gameplay it felt responsive. I loved the mechanic of sliding into enemies to save bullets... and then setting them on fire and letting them burn properly. Really fun! Great job <3
Thank you! Really glad you liked it. Can never go wrong with a game that lets you burn your enemies
Finally beaten the game. The core gameplay loop is fun. Shooting through a horde of enemies is super satisfying.
However I do want to note that since there is no way to replenish ammo in between rounds I was spending more time sliding into enemies than shooting them, which I am not sure if that's the intended experience. The game opens up a lot once I was able to save up enough for the returning ammo. Just one round of it is already game changing and I was able to beat the game with it.
The enemy bullets are on the faster side and there isn't an anticipation animation for their shooting so there wasn't really any meaningful way to weave through enemy bullets other than strafing sideways. And the revolver UI is sometimes blocking the screen a bit that an enemy is hidden behind it. And it would help returning players a bit if the intro cutscene is skippable.
But this has been really fun. I have spend way more time on this game than other titles and that is saying a lot.
Thanks for all the great feedback. If I ever do a post-jam update, I'll be using a lot of this.
Also, very high praise to know you spent a good amount of time on it. I was sceptical when publishing if anyone would enjoy it enough to actually beat it, so that's great to hear.
The gameplay was great! It felt responsive, and when I realized I could save bullets by sliding into enemies, I was doing mostly that.
managed to beat round 6. It was tight, fun, and simple. I especially liked the fire bullets
Congrats on beating it! The sliding is definitely meant to be heavily used. Also, the fire bullets are my favourite too
Very fun and satisfying to line the guys up and kill them all with one bullet. I also like the simple pixel art style!
I'm glad you enjoyed. Thanks for playing!
Haha this is so good, it's so fast to pick up the game. I think the fire ammo is by far the best one. Only downside was not having a small timer before getting shot at when the first round starts haha. Great job !
Heya thanks for playing! Glad you were able to pick it up fast. And good point; you do get thrown in rather suddenly
One of my favorite games so far very well done God bless bro.
Thank you, that's so nice to hear!
youre welcome =)
Is it intentional levels reset when you go to buy ammo? Is the goal to see how far you can get off a single set of 6 bullets (hence the strong bullets)?
Fun concept, loved lining people up and getting multi-kills with single bullets - fits the themeing well!
Hey thanks for playing! Yes, that is intentional. Perhaps I should make that clearer
