How does your game fit the theme?
In "Rollback," the "countdown" theme is directly integrated into the game's core mechanics. To win, the player must make extensive use of the rollback mechanic, which involves a timer displaying the number of seconds rewound whenever the mechanic is triggered.

I always find space-time mechanics interesting but hard to manage.

Good game anyway!

Pretty fun! It would have been nice if the enemies with different attack patterns had different models so they could be told apart at a glance. I'd have liked if the rewind was more integral to the gameplay too. It feels like a useful ability but not the core of the game, so I'd have liked more interactions with it. Overall fun to play though!

Feel free to rate my game too if you get the chance :)

I love bullet hell-type games, so I also enjoyed weaving between bullets in this game, too. The sprites are also well done, though I did get hit by an enemy spawning right on top of me and I mainly used the rewind mechanic to cheese kills for the counter; otherwise, this is a good game!

The Rewind mechanics look good but I feel the game is too difficult maybe I am too old hahah

Nice concept. Implementing a "back in time" feature seems complicated! Congrats

Loved the combo counter. Put those score chase hooks into my brain.

good game but sorry I didn't find it math the theme :/

I was a bit confused at start but actually concept is pretty nice!

I enjoy time displacement effects in games so it was nice to see a new spin on it!  I did end up just using it to respawn enemies in safe positions to re-kill which doesn't seem intended.  Also, dash going towards the cursor instead of the direction you were moving felt a bit awkward, but very fun nonetheless!

Thanks for playing and for the feedback

The rewind concept is promising but currently somewhat overlaps with the dash, acting just like a backward displacement. There are also a few counter-intuitive designs: aiming dead-center makes bullets miss (requiring an offset), and dash direction is tied to facing instead of movement input, which forces you to look away from enemies during combat.

Still, it's a really neat concept overall. Great job on the jam!

Thanks for playing and for the feedback. We are making some notes to improve this project later!

Time-rewind did not feel super useful, but the concept is fun!

Thanks for playing and commenting ;-)

The idea behind the game is really interesting and has a lot of potential. However, I didn't really find a good use for the time-rewind ability, mainly because it doesn't restore health, which makes it feel less useful in practice.

The game is still fun and enjoyable, but I think it could become much better with more detailed visuals, deeper mechanics, and more advanced enemy designs. The core concept is strong, and with further development, this game could truly unlock its full potential. I hope it continues to grow and gets the improvements it deserves.

Thank you for your time, for playing, and for your kind words. We will strive to improve this project and deliver a great experience for players in the future.

Nice game!

I was a little confused on how the "rollback" was supposed to be helpful at first, and it also seemed to at least not visibly indicate regaining health if I was shot during the rollback window.

That said, all the mechanics are quite competent, and any other improvements I'd suggest (enemy spawns that cause less waiting around, wall collisions, clearer goals/story) I imagine were just the product of the time limit.

Developer

You are absolutely right. We really struggled to get everything done on time. We plan to use all the feedback we receive to improve this project in the near future, so thank you very much for playing and for taking a few minutes to send us a message.

Developer

Thank you very much for playing. Yes, unfortunately, we weren't able to implement all the ideas exactly as we wanted before the jam ended, but we're happy you enjoyed what we managed to deliver.

This game was extremely creative with the "rollback" system. However, a few parts I felt could be improved were how the sound effects sounded monotonous, and how there could be more things that really revolve around the rollback system other than just simple avoiding the bullets. Overall, this is a really great concept and has quite a bit of potential!

Developer

Thx for playing and for the feedback. It's really important to us ;-)
