How does your game fit the theme?
A clock sits in the middle of each level, constantly "counting down". You must wind the clock's hand back up to solve puzzles and traverse through the Clocksmith's basement.

Cool take on the theme! The puzzles are fun with the clock mechanic, I liked the art a lot, and the music really set the steampunk atmosphere

Developer

I’m glad you enjoyed!! I’m very happy with how it all came together :)

Haven't played all levels yet, but I think it's good! (Sometimes it's kinda hard because you die immediately when you step into steam.) Also I'm stunned that your team made all the assets!

Developer

Thanks for playing! I would recommend levels 8 and 9 for their puzzles (and lack of steam). I agree that the steam can be harsh!! I gave a slight window of time to allow you to get out the way, but evidently the level design should probably make the steam easier to avoid anyway... Glad you enjoyed though :)

I really loved the game! The clock hand mechanics are super cool and make for great problem-solving. Plus, the steampunk aesthetic is just incredibly beautiful.

Developer(+1)

I'm honestly surprised I haven't seen more steampunk themed games! I love the aesthetic and it seemed to fit very well with the mechanical clock gimmick :). I'm glad you had fun with our game!

This was a really creative take on the theme! I had a lot of fun, and I particularly enjoyed the pursuit level. Music and art were great, I initially assumed they must've been premade assets, so it's impressive you all managed something of this quality in a game jam. Good job!

Developer

Thank you for playing! The pursuit level was definitely straying from the core puzzle aspect but I wanted to try leaning into the speed run side of things some more, so I'm glad it worked out for you!

great puzzle game! the music syncing up to the clock is a nice touch. the insta death did make it a bit hard, but everything pushes/slots into place in the case of the gears really easily which helped.

Developer

Thanks for checking the game out! Yes, I made the song in 5/4 with a beat per second and 12 bars so the song would take exactly a minute and be split up like the hour markers on the clock. I had fun putting that all together :)

Very creative clock mechanic, good job :D

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it!

Fun puzzle game. Cool take on the theme, really enjoy the gameplay :D

Developer

I'm glad you had fun! I'm very happy with what we ended up making :)

a very soothing game that plays on a whim. Love the approach for the clock to be moved manually. Also liked the fact that the game doesn't give you a count down timer so you don't have to rush unless you're a hardcore speedrunner

Developer

Thanks for playing! I wanted the game to have speed run capabilities but yes I'm glad we didn't force the player to complete it within a time limit. That is, of course, unless the clock has a death segment like level 6!

Submitted(+1)

A really well-polished game! Liked the music and the artwork too! It's crazy to see how you guys managed to make this in 4 days. Great job!

Developer

I'm glad you enjoyed! I did have several late nights making it, but was all good fun!

AMazing game. The music an the ambients are great I wonder how talented you are the concept is clever too. Keep it up :) if you have spare time please check out my game too

Developer(+1)

Thank you for checking the game out! I'm glad you liked the music :D

Artwork and atmosphere on top, the music and ambient sounds really took this to the next level. The game had an absourd level of polish for being made in only 4 days! The theme integration was perfect and it was nice not seeing a timer as the main feature of this puzzle game. Thruly a wonderful entry, congrats!! :D

Developer

Thanks for the kind words! We got our idea pretty quickly all things considered and we were quite chuffed with the final result!

Great puzzle, though pushing the gear wheel ends up being a bit of a hassle mainly because of the instant death that don't let space for any little mistake

Developer

I liked the idea of a death segment on the clock, but I definitely think the puzzles which included them need to be reworked or fully changed to properly find the balance between jumping between the level and the clock. Thanks for checking the game out!

A very creative puzzle game with a strong interpretation of the jam theme. I really liked the main idea, the visual style, and the character design. The project has its own distinctive look, and as someone who enjoys puzzle games, I found the concept genuinely interesting.

I completed four levels, but they took quite a long time because I was constantly trying to avoid making even a small mistake. The instant failure from touching the steam made the gameplay feel slower and more cautious than I think it needed to be.

One possible improvement would be to give the player a small amount of health or resistance that quickly regenerates. Touching the steam briefly would then reduce it instead of instantly restarting the level, while staying in the steam for too long would still be fatal. I think this would allow players to act more confidently and complete the levels much faster without changing the core mechanics too much.

Overall, it is a very interesting and creative puzzle game, but the current pacing felt a little too slow for me.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback!!! I feel like I'd consider making steam either deal slight damage or just knock you back if I were to polish this game for a post-jam release (which I may). Annoyingly I feel levels 8 and 9 best represent the puzzle aspect of the game, I definitely should've reordered some of the levels! :)

Hello! Thank you for commenting under our game! I like the idea of the game, puzzles have always been addictive for me, I've been playing it for a long time!

Developer

I'm glad you enjoyed! I was very happy with the core idea of our game. Loved your game too!!!

Submitted(+1)

the concept with the clock blocking out parts of the puzzle was really unique, i enjoyed the level design! art and music were also really nice too, this is a very polished submission :)

Developer

Thanks for playing! I made the clock and cogs have collision and then thought about that idea later in development while making levels. I do like it though, it turned out well!

Submitted(+1)

Incredible work! I love this concept for a puzzle game, I wonder if a time mechanic should be involved to give it even more of brainscratching. It's already pretty complex for me but I had fun going through the levels. Thanks for the game!

Developer

Thank you for checking the game out! For me, levels 8 and 9 best represent the puzzle aspect of the game, which we definitely should've leaned into more for earlier levels. I'm glad you enjoyed!

Submitted(+1)

The puzzles are well designed and there are so many levels that you could definitely play this for quite some time, especially with the added speedrun timer.

Developer

Thank you!!! I would of course love to add a leaderboard and such, but for a short 4 day project like this I am happy with the content for speed runners :).

Submitted(+1)

The music was a little short, but really good, and I liked the puzzles. The only thing that I think was missing is a sound effect for when you rewind the clock, but other than that it was great!

Developer(+1)

I'm glad you enjoyed it! More sound effects is definitely something I would want to add if I were to polish the game some more - like you say, rewinding the clock, gears spinning, conveyor noises, etc. I'm happy with the music and levels too, although I wish I'd put levels 8 and 9 earlier LOL!

Cool Idea and Great Music!

Developer(+1)

YAY thank you!!! The music was composed fairly late on in development but definitely added charm to the game IMO. I looked up steampunk music on youtube for inspiration 😂. I think I did quite well in the short time I had!!!

Submitted(+1)

I absolutely loved the music!

The puzzles where also well thought out.

Developer(+1)

THANKS!!! I'm really happy with the music. I've composed a few things here and there but I think this'll be the first proper song I've made for a game :D. The song has a beat every second and takes 60 seconds to complete, so exactly one rotation of the clock!!!
