How does your game fit the theme?
A random countdown runs until you press a BIG button. To "win," you must press the button as close as possible to a random target time (without being able to see where the current timer is).

Neat Concept, definately makes you countdown

Submitted(+2)

Wasn't expecting voice acting! Really cool concept I loved it!

Submitted(+1)

Was too focused on counting and not losing track of numbers to use the items, cool atmosphere, I suffered

Developer

Haha, yea I had a similar issue when playing it. I think it's part of the obstacle when playing the game. Time is always ticking ^.^. Glad you liked the atmosphere!

A simple but well executed idea! I didn't really get much out of most of the items, but it was fun to try and click the button on time. Perhaps the item's effects could benefit from being more dynamic? The magnifying glass was good, metronome was a novel idea but quite difficult to execute well... anyway I really liked it! Nice job to you all!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for that feedback, glad you loved it :D

Very  interesting concept. took me a minute to realize the countdown. sometimes i would be counting in my head way too quickly. I liked how there were items in the game to mix-up every run . Overall very interesting idea. Good work!

Amazing!

Super cool! Loved how you leaned into the COUNTDOWN theme and gave it that Balatro-style feel. Picking items between rounds was a perfect touch. The atmosphere and voice lines added a lot of personality. Congrats to the whole team, amazing submission!

Developer

Thanks you ! Glad you love it :D

Fun, fun, fun. Not my favorite audio. I really like the mechanic though.

Submitted(+1)

Nice, your core mechanic is similar to mine haha! I got to round 38, whew. Cool game, I like the aesthetic and the voice acting.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Great that you like it ! Already played yours it's for sure pretty similar :D

Submitted(+1)

REALY GOOD IDEA, I just have a complain about the duplicate items, else everything else is spotless

Submitted(+1)

I like the voiceover lol

Developer

Glad you like it haha

This is a really creative take on the genre. I got to about round 48, and the only times I ever missed were when a combination of things made it nearly impossible to keep track of the time, and then 4 times the cat hit the button. So... not at all a fan of the cat.
Crazy how difficult it can be to keep track of time while estimating the extra time needed due to various effects. I think what'll keep me from playing again for now is just the stress and concentration it demands. It's something I'll come back to once a day for a while.

Developer

Seems like we didn't made it obvious enough that you can click on the cat to cancel it.
We're happy you got this far in the game ! Thanks for playing :D

Submitted(+1)

I tried clicking on it the last time, but that just resulted in my player hitting the button after the cat jumped off. Could have been a double click, i suppose.

Submitted(+2)

Very clever idea! I wish the hand slapping down on the button was a little more immediate (though I suppose the timer stopped when I clicked?). I got really really good at this! The items were fun but I never really needed them. I think the difficulty might scale well if you phased out the wonderful metronome beat at the beginning of each round - the time needed for each press was so short, I never had a chance for my internal clock to get off kilter before the metronome came back in to helpfully set me straight again. Really well done!

Did you have any negative items forced on you? Some of those really make extra items necessary. Not to mention the random events, which can sometimes be brutal.

Submitted(+1)

I'll have to play it again for longer to get some of those :D Good to know that's down the line.

Developer

We're glad you had a great time on our game :D

The timer do stop instantly when clicked, we tried to give it a little suspense but it could take a bit more polish yeah. I sadly though too late of adding a boss round that change the rule a bit to force you to use item, it may have fix that point

I had a 12-streak going before the dumb cat got me! I think all the count down practice from my game helped lol Does it have an end or is it endless? Fun game!

Developer(+1)

It has an end at round 50, but I loved the idea of adding the cat random event.

Submitted(+2)

Incredible ! Even the fact that the music seems to be ticking at an off-time pace is an amazing idea. The narration is just enough and the fact that you gain item keeps it interesting. Well done people !

Developer

Thank you, we added narration to make it a little less confusing and keep some engagement, and our composer did amazing with keeping the theme of the game!

Great art and sound design, my sense of time is... a little fast to say the least

Developer

Thank you I tried my best on the sound effects, and me too I had a hard time playtesting.

Submitted(+2)

I really enjoyed the atmosphere and art!

Submitted(+2)

I would’ve imagined scaling up with a visual timer at the start, but forgoing one really lets you get to the action quicker. Especially with the atmosphere you’ve built up here. A good execution.

Developer

Thank you, that is a good idea, but we had a different scope for the game.

Submitted(+2)

My sense of time is so fucked up wtf

Thank you

Developer

Don't worry me too, I sucked at it while play testing.
