Really liked the music and idea; the step-by-step movement was unique and interesting, but I was confused about the goal of the game at first. Other than that, it's a solid game.
The music and and sound design are really nice here. Kind of confused as to what causes the ladder to activate but other than that it was nice.
It was bit hard to understand what to do exactly but once got some ideas for movement it was really fun to play, I liked the music most here though.
I really liked the game and the SFX! The restart button does not work, but other than that, it's pretty good! If you have some time, I'd love for you to check out my game (Fever Knight) and let me know what you think!
the gameplay is so smooth and sfx is great. although going back to the start was a bit unforgiving and pressing restart always froze the game. but other than that. that game made me think, really cool puzzle game!
Figured out what I was doing after a little bit. Spend as many steps as you need in order for the exit to open up, while avoiding the Red square and dodging traps. Honestly a solid little concept. I do wish restarting at least took you back to the start of your current level, rather than all the way back to the beginning of the game. That said I'd say the Gwizziness is on full display here. It's a complete package: graphics, sound, gameplay, and challenge, and a nice interpretation of the theme both from the fact that you're a candle and each puzzle takes some patience to get through. I like it!
Thank you very much! I didn't code it very well which made the game very punishing. Also I had no intro which made it confusing. Lowkey didn't know what Gwizziness meant.
Gwizziness is.
That’s a good wisdom.
I don't really understand what I'm trying to do. I've beat the the first two levels and don't really know how, I'm just getting to the black spot, but I don't understand why it doesn't always work. The music is good (I love beepbox). The art style is nice too.
Maybe you could describe what to do in your game on the itch page, because I took quite a time to figure it out. Except if you are deliberately keeping us in the dark (pun intended) and it is part go the game to figure it out. But in the end, I beat 2 levels and then it went black. So is that the end of your game?
All in all I liked this game a lot!
Thanks for playing. I'll add a description of the game. I don't know why the game breaks in 2 levels. Sorry!
Oh so there were supposed to be more levels? That would be a game breaking bug I think, so you could ask for the extra 24h and fix it.
Could you explain your issue more because I can't find this bug myself.
I just played it again and now it worked. I completed I think 4 or five levels, up to the one with the breaking floor tiles. In the following level though, I went up, and if you do that, that's an instant loss. I didn't have the patience to get back to that level again. If your restart would take you to the start of the current level, this game would be so fun! maybe you can do that after the jam...
interesting realtimeable turn-based mix, basically superhot sokoban?
I actually didn't know Superhot Sokoban had the time-based mechanic. I was inspired by Void Stranger.
I was mixing two game concepts: Superhot .. imho the most mainstream example of staggered realtime, and sokoban for the grid based puzzle mechanic and late 1980s aesthetic (sokoban didn't look this good though :D)
Oh my bad! I see it now. I recognize Superhot but not Sokoban. Thank you for the art compliment!
