Really neat wee game! As others have said it was initially hard to get the idea of what the goal is and such but once you pick that up fairly quickly it reveals a pretty engaging puzzle game.

It's very satisfying watching everything play out when you press play. I also really like the dual-use of the fuse length being both how far it pushes you and the delay until it triggers - it means you can create some fun puzzling situations later on!

I also really like the approach to tutorials used here - no text needed just mark the square. The downside is it feels like you're kind of just going through the motions on the early levels, but that will probably be true for a tutorial regardless.

I think to really push it to the next level I'd love to see a couple things from the level design. I think there could have been a smoother difficulty curve. It felt like most levels you could just go one step at a time, count the spaces needed, and that just worked. Then when I got to the level with the double buttons that you had to push with bins it felt like a massive jump because all in one level you:

  • introduce that bins can also push buttons
  • have complications that mess up the "naive approach" and force you to think carefully about both timing and positioning. Having these complications is great, but it was big of a jump to go from 0 to lots in one level.

Similarly I think there's some neat mechanical interactions here, but I'd love to see levels that force you to encounter it if you take the "naive approach", and I'd love to see those ideas played with further before introducing others. For example it was a "oooh interesting" moment when I first realised that if a bin was pushed into a fuse trail it would cut it off and stop the explosion. But then it didn't really come up in any of the few levels after that.

Overall, really great entry that you should be proud of! I'm sad I didn't get to it in time to actually rate it!

I loved it! At first I didn’t understand what was going on but the gameplay GIFS were really useful for me to understand it. The artwork is very cool and the puzzles are very well designed. I also liked the fact that you implemented the theme as a delay that makes your sprays explode later but with more force. Nice job! I had fun

Really nice idea for this theme ! Cool puzzle game and well executed visually !

Creative n fun game

Really clever take on a sokobal puzzle game. The art is also fantastic and I love the paint splatter effect on everything. Unfortunately however you made the effect seems to cause massive lag, which, to be fair, you are aware of.

Still, in spite of that I had a good time, the puzzles were all very clever and the mechanic of cancelling a detonation by breaking the fuse caught me off guard. The one thing I'd like for the game though is attaching the fuse to the bombs so you know which one is where if you need to change your setup.

Overall, great job!

One of the coolest mechanics I've seen for a 2d grid based puzzle game. The paint can fuses you draw on the map lends itself to a lot of cool puzzles. The level design is on point and gradually gets you used to the mechanics and introduces new ideas.

The only interaction with the mechanics that I didn't like and felt unintuitive is sliding over a fuse that already went out cancels the explosion.

Developer

Thank for your feedbacks ! For sliding into the fuze, it should just break the detonation if sliding on not used fuze.

The idea was to make some more complex puzzles. If fuzes would not destroy, the puzzles could be easier ^^

Super creative puzzle mechanic, and I loved the gradual introduction of puzzle elements! I said "Oh cool!" out loud several times.

It took me a while to understand I needed to hold to increase the fuse time, but as soon as that clicked I loved it!

This was quite fun, enjoyed solving the puzzles. Great work!

This seems so simple in concept but it's actually quite a fun puzzle game that incorporates countdowns very nicely, all the puzzles seem well thought and satisfying to complete !! I enjoyed playing through the game :D

The SFX were super fun! I liked the mechanics, it’s a very creative use of the theme, initially I did not understand why some bombs did not blast, but then I realised stepping on the path defuses the bomb :D

Good puzzle designs as well, once you figure out the path, its satisfying to watch the boom booms :D

Just one thing i wish there was a way to remove the bomb trail, I had to remove the bomb every time and start over

Seems I'm not the only one who it lagged out for and became unplayable. I was really enjoying it. Got to the level with the 1+2 panel next to eachother and the 4 bins in the L shape. I hope that wasnt the last level. I liked the use of the countdown to get things going in the right order. The voice audio really added and the paint splashes gave visual interest. Great job

cool idea, but the game became unplayable before I could finish it

Very interesting puzzle game! I finished all the levels and had fun :)

Really fun!

Took me a second to figure out that the extra paint splotches were actually the fuse, but once I checked the description and realized that it all came together.

Really interesting puzzles. Especially when the buttons and trash cans got added in. The last few definitely hurt my brain, but I got them figured out. Definitely hit the sweet spot of most of the puzzles looking almost impossible until I saw what I needed to do, then the solution felt really simple and elegant.

Biggest complaint would just be timing. Sometimes I'd need to add or remove a tick to allow for the time of the player moving. And I think I might have cheesed the last level because half the time my player would move through the gates and half the time he wouldn't since I had the same bomb moving him as flipping the switch for the gate.
(But that definitely feels like a reasonable bug for Jam game to have)

Puzzle are really interesting and satisfying once I've understand the mecanic ! (red tiles at the beginning are a good idea !)

Had to stop playing because of the stacking paint, but that was a nice brain candy to play <3

Developer

Thank you very much for playing !
My bad for the stacking paint, i didnt playtest this feature as much as i should

This was a fun little puzzle game! I really enjoyed the art style and audio design. I think a mechanic that allows the fine-tuning of bomb fuses instead of having to delete and create new ones would of been nice, but other than that, nice job!

Developer

Thanks for the feedbacks. I know for the fuse. But i am not a really strong dev.

That would brings some problems with the code.

Imagine if 2 different fuses from 2 different bombs are close each other. How do i determine which one would be adjust ? ^^

But yeah, Quality of life could help improve the game :)

Really polished  puzzle game, I enjoyed it a lot!

Took a bit of time to understand the idea but when you get the hang of it, it's fun to play!

dude this game is AWESOME!!!!!!

had so much fun and got very far, maybe even to the last level? not sure but i did eventually give up, and i noticed (because of my many failed attempts) that when the paint would build up on the walls it would never disapear, meaning after so long it would be so built up it would start causing lots of lag just rendering, now it never got too laggy for me but my frames dropped for sure.

Developer

Thanks !!!

I am really sorry for the stuttering

Submitted

oh its fine it was really minimal lag considering how many objects were on screen, im sure you already know considering how great your game is but the best solution is either to remove all of the paint from the previous attempt or just add a cap where it deletes some when it spawns some
