How does your game fit the theme?
So essentially the interpretation of count down in the game is the reverse journey through time, as the character is traveling backwards in time. And in each time period they can find clues where the player will get closer to the origin mystery. So in this whole game the player is constantly going through time and every clue is basically counting them down and making them get closer to the origin. So a countdown in the sense of time moving backwards, and another sense in clues leading them closer (counting players down) to solving the mystery.

Please do not create fake accounts/ratings to boost your own game (or tell your friends to). Because of our rating queue requirement it means that if you create a new account to try to boost your own game you create a bunch of fake ratings that negatively impact other participants. If we see future issues with your account you may be permanently banned from jams.

Thanks

Cute short game! I like the color choices for the art. The only complaints I have look to have been mentioned by other players, but the biggest ones to me were the movement (I kept getting stuck randomly) and my character overlapping with stuff when they shouldn't be. Otherwise good! The story was very mysterious.

Developer

ty! yea ik the movement was a bit clunky Ill fs take some time to refine it!

Very beautiful aesthetic.  Nice music.  Excellent narrative.  I really liked the use of black and white and colour transitions.  Good job using different artwork for different time periods too.

I don't think the fonts match the game art, despite being quite nice.  Also, the dialogue sound effect is a little jarring.  It would be more fitting to play some musical instrument instead, because the stars sing.  So, the people's voices should sound like music, right?  UI could be switched to a more pixel art look.

The path finding is also quite rough.  Try adding some spacing, so the agents don't hug the path edges.

Also, there's slight issues with z indexing.  People being rendered in front of foreground objects.  No doubt there was no time to fix that during such a short game jam, but thought you should know for next time or if you wish to continue.

tysm for all the detailed feedback! I will fs keep all this in mind when I redevelop!

Atmospheric and unusual story. Well done mechanically and artistically, story pace is really good. Very impressive!
On the first stage character sometimes disappears for a few moments, played in firefox.

Developer

tysm! the disappearing thing happens sometimes bc the game is loading still

An absolutely beautiful experience. The storytelling, visuals, and music come together perfectly, creating an atmosphere that completely drew me in. I felt relaxed, immersed, and thoroughly enjoyed every moment.

Amazing game especially the story and the art! However, I kept getting stuck near the dustbin and streetlight colliders for some reason.

Developer

thanks! yea, I have to work a lil on the movement and pixel blocking still!

I love how the art changes to make you understand you're going by the ages. You feel the monotone fading away to leave a more colorful world in it's place. Great work!

instantly got hooked to your game because of, well.. the art, the interesting preface (and a tightly paced story that begs me wanting more but is also satisfying in its own matter!), the music aswell! overall really interesting story, id love to see what more you planned in the future for this title!

Best narrative I've seen in the jam so far! The clicking to move was a bit clunky, but I was able to work around it. Great job!

Developer

tysm! will fs make walking way easier in the redevelopment!
