Great game with a great application of the theme. I don't think it's horribly clear what the target draw time is, but I might have missed that in the tutorial, or the use of "early" makes it seem that you have fired too soon. But really small thing to tweak.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for checking it out! I agree with the "early" wording . I'd clarify that if I could. It's just saying early, not "You did it wrong - you were too early!", which is confusing for sure.

Basically, when the (invisible) timer hits zero, you get attacked. On the dot. The vampires have a window before that where they expose their heart. Sometimes (usually) that window is not long enough to wait around and twitch-react to the heart popping up, so you have to aim to start drawing your weapon just before that window so that it's open when you get there. But not TOO early, or else your accuracy goes to heck.

I hope that makes sense. Cheers!

I love this! The classic western theme played on organ pipes is such a beautiful touch, the mechanics are clean, the art is effective. I love this, fantastic job!

Found this game because its named the same as mine, and we had a funny mix up with a streamer where he thought both of us in chat were suggesting the same game. Tried to explain but not sure he'll put it together. In any case wanted to come check out my name twin.

This game is actually sick, very unique and fun way to pull on the reaction-time + aim-train dopamine. The tutorial is actually really good, goes a long way to ease you on board, could imagine without it you might thing its more complicated than it is, nice touch for a jam

Developer

Hah, thanks for playing! Yeah that was funny. I'd seen a few with similar names or vampire themes but none that matched the name perfectly. Thanks a lot for checking it out.  I'm glad the tutorial found the Goldie Locks zone for you. Feedback has been mixed and that's the same struggle I had with my Steam game, as well.

Im'a go look at yours now.

Fantastic tutorial, it was definitely needed. Creative way to do a quick draw mechanic, actually hitting his heart felt so satisfying. Great Job!

Developer

Thanks for playing it!

Confusing but once I got a hang of it it was actually fun!

Fun to play, but I didn't get the point of the reload mechanic — didn't seem to add much (or maybe I just missed it!).

Developer

Thanks for checking it out! I'm confused as there's not a reload mechanic... Do you mean cocking the gun?

Submitted(+1)

Yeah, basically it's lots of time before heart spawn, and this mechanic looks a bit useless :)

Developer(+1)

Oh I see. It was just meant as a transition to get people from a mouse-hold state to a released one where they could click to shoot. I thought it felt better than just hovering over the Hold area, and the you can also bail on your countdown if you want. The gun cocking itself isn't tied to the heart spawn though.

It's super fun to play, and the art work and sounds are amazing !

Submitted(+1)

Brutally difficult, but I really liked the weirdly physical action of drawing and aiming the gun!

Developer

Thanks for checking it out. I was worried about the difficulty but just kinda had to cross my fingers lol.

All good! It feels appropriate for the game anyways

Submitted(+1)

Love this game, it feels like playing a game on steam already.

reallly realllly cool. The game mechanic was a bit confusing at first, but I managed to get the hang of it quickly.

Submitted(+1)

What a unique game. Really enojoyed the mechanic of holding and dragging down first before shooting. Great work!

Submitted(+1)

Really great take on the theme, and enjoyed playing it! Well done on the art and audio as well!

Only had a measly 60 points rofl. May come back to try again :)

Really cool game I commented on the game page too but i dont think more comments would hurt

very very very coooool game!! i like the graphic style, the mechanics, the characters, the audio and the idea. good job and good luck in voting! Could you try playing my game?

Developer

Thanks for playing! Yep, I play and do reviews at the end of the night, I'll be sure to check it out later.

I like the games that look simple but are really not that easy to play with a good curve to it. Both the art and the music fit the game perfectly, love the crossover vibe of Wild West and Vampire theme

Submitted(+1)

I really like the quick draw mechanics in this one! Also really cool to see such an in depth tutorial in a game jam game. Super creative and super fun! Great job!

Developer

Thanks for playing. Yeah in my Steam game I got lashed for my tutorial not being clear enough so I kind of have that lesson branded in my brain lol.

I only got 94 on normal... I probably shouldn't be playing games  that require a lot of hand-eye coordination and timing....

REALLY GOOD GAME I LOVE IT

Developer

I know, I'm not the best either. I had to make the county's heart huge to test the ending (the lazy way), but yolo

Nice Aim mechanic, really liked the art as well. Adding different difficulty settings and tutorial is really nice for a jam game. Congrats!

Developer

Thanks a lot, appreciated. I actually didn't even get time to test Impossible difficulty, so that might be a nightmare idk. Technically beatable though.

Cool art and great idea! love it

Everything was perfect with little to criticize. From the game mechanics to the art and music, everything was spot on!

Developer

Appreciate it!
