This is great! Very polished entry both from an artwork and gameplay perspective. I'd be curious to see how different strategies work - I pretty much just loaded up on as many executioners as I could but maybe there are better methods.
Pretty fun game! The number of different cards is actually kind of impressive and the presentation is great
I don't think the game was too hard, but getting three alerts in a row (or close to that) could be pretty frustrating and happened to me a surprising amount of times... but I suppose that's just a matter of luck.
Overall though, good game!
dang this game is sick. incredible cohesive art style and fun unique gameplay. the audio is nice, and i agree this feels super polished for a jam game, great job !
The artsyle is great and once I understood how the game worked and got to the later counties it got pretty strategic too. The world map also looks really cool.
Really great game! Like other players said, i wish there was a small explanation how to kill the counts, but other than that the game was a lot of fun and i enjoyed the art and gameplay a lot!!
The art style on this game is amazing, and I love the unique card/villager types and their different mechanics. I just do wish there was a bit of a tutorial or explanation for how the game works, as it was a bit tricky to get the hang of it. Great job though!
Loved the style and mood for this game!
I would have benefitted from more onboarding to how to play, but its clear that many folks before me were able to figure it out. :)
The game is just super stylish and enjoyable, great job!
Beatiful game that already feels balanced and complete. I would welcome a tutorial on the first map where it teaches you how to kill the first count.
Thank you! and yes, it would definitely benefit from a bit of tutorialization..
That was a fantastic game, amazing polish, I unfortunatly died the very last turn before I would've won, but it gripped my attention the whole way through. Amazing engine builder!
Oh nooo! Well I'm very happy you enjoyed it :)
This is a lot of fun, reminds me a bit of Cultist Simulator. Really like the art, sound, UI, and general polish. Like others said I had no idea what was going on at first but then it clicked what was happening. I do think a description of what to do would help, even on just the itch.io page, in case others are giving up without figuring it out. Great job!
I love the vibe of the game with the spooky music and the dark silhouette pixel art. Dynamic interactions feel good. The game was a little hard to understand at first but I figured it out. Great job!
Wow! This game is really polished and I just played it and didn't even notice when it has ended. Everything worked fine, look great and sounded dandy. You already know that. The thing that made me feel unsure about this game is game design. I understand there are multiple maps and setups at once, that you have taken the title out of an arcade'y contex and the winning condition is different. I just wished there was something inventive here, because sure, it's repainted well, but still it's repainted. I still think it's one of the most well polished games on GMTK out there so thank you for making it!
I really got into the game with the whole risk aspect of blackjack and building your deck, amazing idea and so is the execution! Only thing i got lost was on how to complete the game, I guessed it was about buying the count but i missed one step there. Great game! honestly would love to see a full version.
Really loved the music and visuals and the overall vibe. The whole game felt very polished for a jam.
This is one of those gam jam games that you just are like howww incredible idea and polished execution amazing job no notes.
I think I killed 5/7 counts before I ran out of blood. Cool concept, polished execution.
One of the best executed entries I’ve seen so far! Good thing I was familiar with UFO50’s Party House. The art and sound work great. It did take some time to understand the mechanics, but that made it more exciting in the end, winning with only 4 hearts left. After I hit restart the game bugged out, but totally worth checking out. Fantastic work!
Took me a while to fully understand how to play, but after that, I enjoyed it immensely <3
Very cool game, I played the whole thing! It's always fun to see something inspired by something like UFO 50's Party House. The aesthetic and music are amazing. It's interesting having a health mechanic but I wish it was used a little more, it felt very forgiving going down 1 heart per round aside for something like the occasional knight. One of the best parts about Party House is the push and pull of the economy vs the danger of taking two many Xs, and here I didn't feel as much danger because it was easy to play it safe and just wait until the next night. But this is a minor complaint and I think the game is otherwise awesome.
Thank you! Yes, regrettably we changed it from 10 hp to 20 hp at the last second, so now you have way too much health and it basically isnt a concern. I told people irl to pretend that 10 = death lol
