Nice game! Movement is well done, smooth wall jumps and double jumps!

Nice twist of the theme lol.

Submitted

really really good I love it the movement is so nice and the mechanics are really well done the sound and pixel art is really really good too so congratsss!!

Submitted

Movement feels really good and responsive, game overall is quite polished Very good

Submitted

Wow the controller so nervous, loved that !The first level is a little too difficult but still like it !

Submitted

The gameplay is so smooth, loved the controls and once you get used to them you're moving so fast through the level. It can become a bit difficult to navigate but definitely made replaying a level a fun challenge.

Submitted

The games'movement is very satisfyng and surprisingly deep. The idea is vey fun and creative for the theme given. the levels were nice and short but it often felt like the level design was not designed to enhance the wondwrfoul movement options you had made. overall it's been a blast playng this

I really like the controls, it's very snappy, and you can do a lot quickly ! Shooting arrows is also very satisfying, and being able to retrieve them afterwards is the cherry on top. The sounds are great, and the pixel art is neat. Congratulations :)

Looks good. The controls were a bit too floaty, though - the character can easily run into things...

Once I got a weird bug in 2nd level, where I dive-attacked an enemy, and got stuck in it. Neither one of us were able to damage each other. I eventually got released when I closed fullscreen & re-entered it.

Cheers!

Wow, there's a lot of game packed into this one! The player feels really good and diverse for a platforming character. I particularly like having archery as a major combat mechanic, I'd love to see you lean further into that as the main source of damage.  Your art is really well done in the castle tileset, I can imagine seeing that quality extended to the trees and other tilesets too. I didn't quite follow what the eye was meant to indicate to the player, I'm guessing just the alertness of the guards?

Personally, I would have liked to see more variety in the enemy and especially the boss fights, I feel there is a lot of fertile ground especially with your moveset.

Congrats on submitting!

Amazing game. Cant believe you both did good in art AND in audio i could never lmao. Anyways as for the game itself its best feature is how fun the movement and the game is. I dont normally like playing random games, but this one i really enjoyed. Two small things. The archer in this game are so busted. There tracking is way too good i mean i think the only things that killed me are archers with absolutly insane shots, or the second point which i thing needs to be a bit better. The wall jumping. Its smooth and good but i dont feel like i have much control on where i want to go. If i can say one thing to improve on the wall jumping is maybe instead of instantly switching directions, we can hold on to the wall for about .5 or 1 second and during that time we can change direction. Other then that Amazing game goodluck on the jam :)

THE COUNT IS DOWNNNNNNN

I absolutely love the dramatic orchestral cue that plays every time you take damage. The movement is a little fast and hard to get used to, but honestly it’s kinda fun despite how some of the levels (especially the second one) look a lil wonky-

Developer

Thanks for playing! I enjoyed adding those sound cues XD

Yep I can agree that the levels could have used a little more love. You've got that sweet tutorial aesthetic and then...our beautiful trees in level 2.

Nice game!

The wall jumping was a bit hard to get used to but I managed. I really liked that I could pick up arrows and reuse them.

I also managed to get the Count stuck in the trapdoor to the left on him on the second level, made it a very easy fight :D

Submitted

Fantastic work to you and the team! You could've just done an infinite jumper with that smooth wall jumping mechanic, and I would've happily played that too! hahaha

really cool game. The controls were resposive and I liked how the time slowed down when aiming. The sfx were also solid! Only thing is that I think I couldnt reach Count with my melee ataack from the right, but from the left I could. But for a 4 day jam, great work!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! Thanks for letting me know about the melee attacks, since I just realized that I accidentally checked an extra collision box that broke melee attacks on the left hand side. We might update the game post-jam to fix those kinds of bugs. :)

I really like the games it was quite fun. The pixel art was nice and music was good to.

But i do feel like the character may run a bit to fast and the jum is a lttile to high.

Also there was a glitsh have i slamed in the ground where the charcter woundnt move and was stuck in walk cycle.

Other than that great start for a gme made in 4 days!

Loved the count design, he was really cute! I liked the winged dash. The gamepad support is great, but the menu system is not supported well, which is a shame. Overall, nice job! ♥️

Developer

Oh yeah, sorry about that. I remember one of the other devs saying that right before the deadline, but I forgot because I was running on 3 hours of sleep at the time XD.

Thanks for playing!

SO glad you like the character designs, I had a lot of fun thinking them up and making all the animations! :)

Submitted

It’s a fun game, where I somehow ended up ground stomping everything and ignoring any other attack form haha! Being in the air just gives a huge advantage against the melee enemies and makes it harder for the archers to hit you. Even though I only used one mechanic I did quite enjoy the game, good job!

Submitted

I really like the pixel art for the enemies and player, and i like how fast you move but sometimes the platforming is a little to small for how tiny and fast the player is, i have no problem with the speed i think the levels could use just a little more work. apart from that, i had really fun time with it, the bow is OP. also i was really expecting a count dracula game but was pleasantly surprised xd. another thing is the sound design when you get hit and are on low health, whoever did that did an amazing job, I really like how the music ramps up when you're on 1 health lol. overall really good game :>

Developer

Yes!!! I spent a bunch of time on the music and making things feel intense when you're low on health, but I wasn't sure if it was a good time investment. I'm glad somebody noticed. XD

Thanks for playing!

Thank you so much, I had a bunch of fun making the pixel art and animations for the enemies and player! :)

Fun game! I beat all 3 levels.

The concept of this game is so interesting. I like the idea of bringing down the count to go with the theme. Though the controls had a few bugs (left click melee won't work and the sometimes I would freeze in place), I really enjoyed the more fast paced style platformer/metrovania style game and the bow and arrow mechanic was fun!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! I haven't managed to recreate the "freezing in place" issue, but I just realized that I accidentally checked an extra collision box that broke melee attacks on the left hand side. We might update the game post-jam to fix those kinds of bugs. :)

Submitted

No worries! Our game has a few bugs in it too! I am very impress with how much of your game you've developed within the short amount of time we had. I'd love to play it more after the jam!
